It sounds like there was pressure to get that vehicle delivered before end of month. It’s a numbers game for investors. I would guess they looked hard (and maybe found) an alternative buyer who would take delivery.

If you’re worried about resale value don’t buy an EV (or most any other car). Buy it because it fits your needs and desires. The R1S is a great vehicle. My early edition (vin 4xx) has been relatively problem free. Others have had a few hiccups. Overall a solid choice though.
Are you sure Sheraton doesn’t doesn’t allow pickups? There are lots of parking garages downtown if you don’t mind walking a bit. But I would check with the hotel to see what they recommend.
