For clarity, with drive cam enabled, can one see the recordings via the center screen? Or do you have to connect it to a laptop to see them? On the center screen I see nothing even though it’s enabled. I do see motion cam recordings.

Can you share a picture? I’m sorry that happened. It’s unlikely to be covered by warranty unless you can show the carpet was defective leading to the tear. Maybe others have seen similar, but none that I recall. A good PSA to others to protect your seat backs.
