3. One to pick it up (didnāt want to wait), one for each of two recalls. Everything else was mobile service, except for a broken window which I had replaced at a local collision repair center.
I have a quad with 20ā ATs. They perform well on unpaved roads. And Iāve never had an issue with range. Iāve driven from SF Bay Area to LA and to Seattle. I do expect issues with range when I drive to Alaska, but not sure the 21s would be enough to matter.
Have you ever driven an EV with...

And this is the Model X story...
Iād like to head up to Fairbanks in the summer. People have done it, but the part about reasonable number of stops and more importantly reasonable length of stops is still an issue. But Tesla and BC hydro and a few others are starting to fill the gaps.
I would really love an extension into northern BC. Up to Prince George there are other alternatives and Yukon isnāt bad, but northern BC is a desert. And what could be more adventurous than heading up to Alaska.
If memory serves that is a placeholder to deal with the fact that if you live less than 100 miles from the SC they may drive it to you. If >100 they send via flatbed truck.
That gives you a lot of flexibility. But for peace of mind, stop by the RAN in Sacramento and charge up to 70%. Shouldnāt take long. You can stretch your legs and use the restroom. And get to Kirkwood with plenty of spare electrons. And as you get use to your Rivian and the route you can fine tune.
My advice, try it. Donāt stress. If you get closer and itās draining more quickly stop at one of the many chargers along the way. Do you have a plan for charging while at kirkwood? If not make sure you have enough to get back to your chosen charging station on the return trip.
1.21 gigwatts. Level 100 charging.
Fine print: Will degrade battery and void all warranties on your Rivian. Is charging from 0-135 KW in less than 150 nanoseconds worth it?
Only advice is that if you really want the max pack, wait a bit longer. Multiple reservation holders have been asked to lock in their configurations in the past week (including me). With delivery dates for most in Jan/dec. With a few claiming earlier dates and one or two with VINS.
Iāve been asked to lock in my config also.
Iām happy with my quad motor LE with ATs and powered tonneau. Originally I was considering buying the max pack and selling my older 1, but then they went from quad to dual, removed the tonneau and I realized I really like having the ATs.
The main...
When you sign up the Tesla app you provide your credit card number. When you activate the charger with the app for CCS charging it goes into āCCS modeā and when you remove the cable from the pedestal it has a CCS adapter mated. You just plug it into your R1 and charge. Pretty sweet.
Finally something I can help with. Iād recommend
