  1. Tesla FSD drives down railroad tracks, gets hit by train

Having inherited a HW4 MY with FSD earlier this year, the MY feels closer to my ICE then then my G1 S IMO in terms of ride feel and handling. If you are refering to software and technology, the MY is more refined. The FSD is cool, but I've experienced multiple instances of phantom braking (on...
  2. Positive Rivian Service Center Experience

Had to take my S in to get CAN issue resolved. I was upfront and let Rivian know what I did and what I needed help with. After I put in my ticket, I got a call asking me for more details. Thought there was a chance they would say I messed with something I wasn't suppose to mess with and...
  3. Rivian Pulling Demand Levers

Took my S back to the Mothership to fix a CAN issue (my Rivian didn't like the Comma) and jaw dropped to see how many vehicles were in the lot. The service advisor said most of the vehicles were awaiting delivery (not sure if that meant they had a buy or were waiting for a buyer before...
  4. Comma AI/OpenPilot Update -- Watch it in Action on Gen1 Rivian (Video)

Welcome, he is good about getting back to you and helpful. He has always gotten back to me within a business day when I DM'd. Make sure you let him know you need it for the Rivian and need the 8 degree mount. Unlike Beartech's solution with the 8 degree wedge, the Chunmounts are all in one...
  5. Comma AI/OpenPilot Update -- Watch it in Action on Gen1 Rivian (Video)

The link is not the Chun Mount. It is Beartech's magmount (still good product). To get the Chun mount direct message him from within one of the discord servers he is on. He is on Sunny Pilot and Beartech discord servers. You can't DM him unless you are friends or on the same server. He...
  6. Slate Auto - Jeff Bezos' $25k EV Pickup Spotted With Heavy Comanche Vibes

I had the opposite experience. I have a diesel half-ton with most of the bells and whistles. I'm actually selling it off to get something more basic like this. All we ever used the truck for was hauling stuff. Kids and dogs also hated riding in it. If Rivian did a R2T, I'd happily fork out...
  7. Semi-auto Driving... Lane control.

OP I have a '20 Fit EX with Honda Sense and Comma. Does the '24 Odyssey have a beefed up Honda Sense as the Fit's HS was basically ping pong before comma and it wouldn't center you like the S will do on the Highway with Drive+.
  8. Reminder: Rivian Promised Level 3 "Eyes Off the Road" Autonomy on Gen 1

Just ordered my 3x, but maybe Rivian could just installed the harness to allow G1 owners to easily add something like comma.ai as good will? Just crazy idea.
  9. Nothing to see here

I am also very familiar with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the DoD version (DFAR). I have seen larger $$$ requirements go sole source, but for very valid reason that have been vetted at multiple levels. From my understanding of CT capabilities vice competitors, I can not see...

  11. Does Rivian have what it takes to survive?

+1 From talking to employees (mobile tech., service center and showroom) in the last month, enthusiasm was lacking and they seemed apprehensive about the future. Usually it's the employee telling the customer to not worry, I found myself in the opposite role trying to be a cheerleader for them...
  12. Normal Rivian SC experience

Dropped off the S for troubleshooting on the suspension system. Some observations 1. The assembly line is nowhere as active as it was when I last visited about a year ago. Dropped off the car same time on a Friday as I did last time. 2. They still have in-factory pick-up and I assume the...
  13. Costco and Electrify America partnering for select Costco chargers

Just hit me as I was filling up the ice vehicle at CostCo. Need to work it out so only open to members like they have with gas. Costco chargers by EA.
  14. Costco and Electrify America partnering for select Costco chargers

Hoping it expands further sooner vice later. CostCo is a common stop on all of our road trips and make sense to feed two birds with one hand. Yes I know I twisted the original phrase about birds. The primary S driver is a vet so we don't like the idea of killing any animal.
  15. Why does NACS adapter not work with L2 Chargers?

I like to think this forum is one way we can help to keep each other educated. Based on his question it seems he knows the why. If you were being sarcastic, apologies I took wrong way. Crazy times here in the US, best we try to help and support each other judgement free (gets off soap box).
  16. No More Rivian Plant Factory Tours

My S is headed to the mothership this week for service. Will report/validate. Not sure if there was ever an official" factory tour, I think it was part of the pick-up experience. Will not be surprised either way.
  17. Wiper refills OEM

OP, thanks for heads up. I replaced my wipers with Kimblades and have been very impressed with the quality and functionality (it just wipes without streaks after 3 seasons). Kimblades also sell the blades separately. It'll cost you what it would cost to buy the Rivian OEMs.
  18. How long does it take to have your vehicle seen at a service center?

Again it seems to depend on location. I've had 5 service requests, all five have been within a week. Had mobile service 2x and 3x left at the Normal service center. Of the 3x, only once the truck had to spend more than one day at the SC. I think I'm a HUGE exception.
  19. Rough Country Wheels? Do they seem too cheap to believe

(side jack) but for $600ish more you can get a set of the R600 or R1000 from EV Sportsline. If you live local to Dallas, the Apollo wheels look great (shipping is what killed it for me). Have the R1000 wheels and great match to the Rivian IMHO.
