  1. Ceiling mounted Rivian wall charger with drop down cord

The NEC states that switches, breakers, or disconnecting means shall be readily accessible, but the charger is hardwired and doesn't have a disconnect. It's also within sight of the panel so the breaker can serve as the disconnect if needed. It's really no different than the outlet on the...
  2. Ceiling mounted Rivian wall charger with drop down cord

Looks nice! I hate having to step over my cable when it's plugged in so this is an interesting idea. How far off the ground does it hang? When plugged in, the shape of the connector causes the cable to point downwards, so you'll need some extra length for it to loop back up towards the ceiling...
  3. Electrical wiring for charger

As others have stated, I would rule out aluminum and only consider the copper options. Copper is a better conductor and more thermally stable, and the wall charger requires copper at the connection. For a long run, you could use aluminum and switch to copper at the end using proper connectors...
  4. Using air compressor on tires

True, but don't they charge you if they find it's operating as designed with no fault found? I didn't want to open a bogus ticket if this is how they all are, but I suppose it's off enough to make the case that something's wrong.
  5. Using air compressor on tires

Thanks for sharing. It's totally useable as-is, but if it's leaking it can't be efficient and it will take longer to fill. It also doesn't match some videos I've seen on youtube where people check the pressure after inflating and it's within 1 PSI. Maybe I'll open a ticket and see what Rivian says.
  6. Using air compressor on tires

For those of you that have used the compressor to fill your tires, is there supposed to be a hissing sound when you connect the hoses before pressing the start button? It kinda sounds like the tire is supplying air to the system and it's leaking out from within the truck. If I disconnect the...
  7. CT Deliveries--to your house or from Brooklyn?

Eastern long Island here. They did not offer delivery for me so I picked up from Brooklyn in late Decmeber. I didn't mind it actually, the 2 hour drive home was a good test to get used to it in city and highway conditions.
  8. PAAK - Issue Resolved - Nope!

I was also pleasantly surprised that my Samsung S22 was working flawlessy all weekend... until it stopped working this evening. Had to use the app to unlock and the keycard to activate drive. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.
  9. Is anyone have weird problems with the truck and the phone app after last update?

I got the same email but haven't noticed any issues. PAAK was always intermittent at best with my Samsung phone so I've been carrying the key fob with me and proximity has been working well with it so far. Seems like a lot of users got the email and have been experiencing issues with the app tho.
  10. Attention Battery Charging Guru's: Seeking advice!

There are many factors that accelerate lithium-ion battery degradation, and charging current is one of them but its not as significant as the state of charge (SoC). A lot of effort goes into designing the protection circuitry and charging algorithm to prevent damage from normal usage. For...
  11. Key fob quandary

Same problem here too. It's on the list of things to reach out to service for but is somewhat low priority.
