I have the same box....just curious did you test fit it on top? My cross bars are on top and I've looked at it, but haven't actually test fit to see if it would clear the satellite fin. I doubt the efficiency hit would be that different than your setup
Right. Maybe for the very specific use case of off camber ice the DM has an advantage over QM....but other than that, it's highly debatable and very dependent on the details of each scenario (deep snow, packed snow, ice, flat, incline, off camber, etc...) and most importantly...THE TIRES
Mine is Rivian Blue, but I have seen several up close and I think pics above depict it accurately. It is definitely metallic and not matte. My personal opinion is it is actually lighter than most other "metallic / dark / smoke grays" from other manufacturers - which personally I really like...
Water anywhere in the system can freeze and affect operation of check valves, manifold...really anything in the system.
I don't know the details of how the R1T air system is put together, but my ER has a Keldermann airbag system with a 10g tank and includes a water separator specifically to...
A tire shop that installs a tire that does not meet the load rating of the vehicle that it's installed on could theoretically be held liable for anything that happens as a result - tire failure, accident, warranty issues, etc...
Given that an insurance company would ABSOLUTELY use this to get...
Across the board, the Rivian mapping / navigating / route finding experience is sub-standard and now my single biggest complaint with the vehicle.
There is nothing worse than having to validate every single navigation suggestion that Rivian makes with Waze or Google Maps on your phone. And...
That's what I do. Just don't run them around a bunch on dry pavement / warm temps.
But to put things into perspective, $1-2k is completely insignificant compared to the cost of: probably any repair on the R1T, to another vehicle you hit / insurance claim / accident, or potential injury to you...
With 15k miles on my R1T now and having driven the both the OEM Pirelli's ATs and my dedicated snows in one of the biggest Sierra winters in recent history, I can say definitively there is significant improvement with dedicated winter tires (particularly on packed snow and ice).
But if you have...
And based on my experience, it's more reliable than any other vehicle.
Consumer Reports "predicts" that because it has no data, so that is based on nothing.
So, in summary, there is zero new information here.
That sucks, and I can't blame her. But the on the flip side of that coin, my total experience after 1.5yrs of ownership and 15k miles is so completely different and better than any than other vehicle I've owned (first EV) that I will probably never consider buying another ICE vehicle (for daily...
Wash what I can reach by hand, or from the running boards, don't worry about the rest. Risk of breaking/cracking the roof glass is just not worth having it spotless. Plus I have the sunshade so now I can't even see it. It's just going to be the first thing to get dirty again anyway....
I think you made the right call. While you theoretically could drive it, that's bad advice and I absolutely would NOT drive it without the airbag suspension. It is likely just resting on the bump stops and driving it would be transferring all of the road forces and stress of a 7k lbs vehicle...
Nice vid and adventure. I did the Laurel Lakes route several years ago in the E350 Sportsmobile I had at the time. The sketchiest part was that last turn before Laurel Lake as the turning radius on 4x4 Quigley conversions is horrible, so had to make like a 15 point turn on that off-camber...
Same here, got error message in app that "update could not be started" or something of that nature. I just ignored it, checked back 10-15min later and it had just continued preparing/unzipping and updated
I thought Amazon had a bunch of IP around their delivery truck routing....shouldn't that be something that your largest strategic investor, who surely has orders of magnitude more resources than ABRP, be sharing or co-developing with Rivian?
