I too got same call tonight. Still undecided, but I did appreciate them acknowledging the delays not being optimal and advising me to get the truck that I want and not settle for something I wouldn't be comfortable or happy with.
Guy started at in March 2020 as the COO, but this was a planned retirement?? COME ON
I am sure there is more to the story, there could be any number of reasons for an early departure but planned retirement is not one of them. Wrong fit, personal/family issues, health, etc... But...
In other words, it's and Adventure Package with some extra badging, free wheel upgrades and prioritized delivery :)
I passed on it for the same reason (and the Max Pack) but I'm glad there are so many others eager to beta test and help the company work out the kinks on the early production...
For the last 3yrs they have averaged ~900k F-150's sold each year. So yes literally an order of magnitude more
But probably a very small percentage of those the highest end Lariat trim and even then, different capabilities, different features, different use case than Rivian. So almost...
I mean if you didn't know this was going to happen, you have your head in the sand. Being first to market with an EV truck, you had to know that all the legacy truck makers weren't going to just let that happen to their largest revenue stream without any response. And Amazon was going to just...
Yeah, I actually was going to say there is a segment of the population here that will read the Winter Storm Warning / news that specifically states "you could be stranded in your car for many hours if you get stuck" and still say F- it, I'm still going totally unprepared anyway. But out here...
There's quite a few variables particular to each situation. If you are talking about gridlocked highway in the winter, that is one situation that is probably best mitigated by having the common sense to anticipate large traffic volume + bad weather forecast = bad situation to be avoided in the...
"Lied" may be a bit of a stretch...I don't think the company willfully deceived customers or the public. Some of the circumstances have changed, which I understand happens and is life.
Look, I am a die hard Rivian supporter, as I'm sure most people here are. I desperately want them to...
I'm not arguing what range mileage works for you or doesn't work for you, or whether you see the additional value to justify an additional $10k investment - that's entirely up to you. What I'm pointing out is people are throwing around a 300+ mi range as if that is the normal/common useable...
I'm a March 2019 reservation holder so I've been 'loosely following' since 2018 but I haven't been to any shows and I haven't watched every interview that RJ gave.... but quite frankly I shouldn't have to in order to parse out small clues that the company can later use to back away from what was...
This kind of proves my point - I guess people just don't comprehend that 315mi of EPA-tested range will almost never be >300mi of actual useable range, even in ideal conditions just due to the fact that you don't want to be charging the battery to 100% frequently for optimal battery health and...
THIS. I am amazed at how many people think that ~315mi range, on the best day in the most optimal conditions, which will immediately end up being anywhere from less to a lot less, due to battery optimization/conditioning, AT tires, payload, terrain, and adverse weather for a truck / SUV is...
