I spoke with my electrician and he confirmed that 3 phase is the culprit. It's not really an issue, but just the nature of 3 phase.
I am totally fine with this now that I understand what's happening and I will not be making any changes other than reinstalling the Tesla universal charger (the...
Also, when the wipers are on, why do I feel the wiper cycle in the accelerator pedal? LOL Is this just a me issue or has anyone else felt a knock in the accelerator pedal when the wipers are running?
Gen 1 R1T. Maybe this has been resolved in the Gen 2.
It's just a weird experience.
Coming from a GEN R1T, some of these may be solved in the GEN 2, but here is my GEN 3 wish list.
Much better cold and hot weather driving and charging performance.
800v or 1000v architecture.
More modern battery tech and a larger battery.
No damn air suspension.
On the dual motor, better...
I am going to ask the electrician to look at it again just to be certain, but based on the comments here and the math, it appears to be the nature of 3 phase power. I am fine with the lower power numbers this as long as it's not a charger or vehicle issue.
I fully expect some losses
It's a shop on our property and it was wired for 3 phase. This makes sense. Not a charger or Rivian issue then. Since it has 3 phase, I should have just installed a DC charger instead. 😄
I had the Tesla charger professionally installed. The install included the 60A breaker, conduit, wiring, disconnect box outside and the EV charger.
I did the Autel swap myself.
Here are the voltages while the charger is charging.
Line 1 - 120.6V
Line 2 - 119.5V
207.1V across both lines.
I am struggling to understand why my 2023 R1T Dual Max Performance doesn't charge above 10kW on the Tesla universal wall charger or the Autel Maxicharge 50A EV charger. I also have an EVIQO EV charger that the truck is able to pull 10.8kW consistently during every charge, but for some reason, it...
Hey everyone, I’m dealing with an intermittent suspension fault on my Gen 1 R1T. The truck will either start the drive with the system at fault or, after a few minutes, the fault will present itself like shown in the video. When it happens, I lose the ability to adjust ride height or stiffness...
I really appreciate the responses and insight being contributed here. As a first time Rivian owner, this is very helpful info. I decided to proceed with a Gen 1 R1T dual max and just see how it goes!! I've seen the negative comments about the max battery option and its value, however, as a first...
That is reassuring to hear. Was the windshield only frosted over?
Thank you, this is insightful! For point 2, I typically run on the cooler side and appreciate warmer temps than the average, especially in the winter months. I often set the temp setting between 75 and 80 F in my current vehicle...
Hi Rivian Community, I currently drive an F150, but I've had my eye on an R1T/R1S for a long time. I am close to pulling the trigger on a Gen 1 Rivian R1T, but I have a few questions that I have been seen answers to yet. I am really just trying understand what my expectations should be. For...
