  1. One-Pedal Driving in Rivians???

Perhaps, but the gain in efficiency is probably pretty negligible unless you're in stop and go traffic for hours? One pedal driving I can get used to. But I have concerns about how I'll feel about brake regen. I don't like the feeling of strong regenerative braking where as soon as you let...
  2. Flat towing a Rivian

Great idea and would be an industry first for EVs, but Teslas and the Nissan Leaf can't be flat towed so I'm wondering if there's a reason EVs specifically can't be flat towed.
  3. Cool Rivian facts & history

Here's another trivia: The company was first named Mainstream Motors in 2009, then changed to Avera Automotive, and finally settled on Rivian Automotive in 2011.
  4. Rivian picks up Faraday's electric drivetrain team

The Faraday FF91 is a smaller car than the R1T and R1S. If they were as small, they would be able to drop into the 2.x second 0-60 range I'd bet. At the 2-3 second 0-60 range we're splitting hairs for bragging rights anyway. It's all nauseatingly fast.
  5. Rivian stores, showroom and direct sales?

Tesla just announced that it's going to close down most store locations while retaining a some gallery and showcase locations. So you won't be able to order a Tesla in store anymore and can only do it online. Has Rivian said what its stores / sales model will be? No way I'd buy a car without...
  6. Possible First Peek at Rivian R2 - Future Rally Model

Looks like it could be a 4 door hatchback. The beefy rally-like fenders remind me of this.
  7. Rivian Pricing Targets Loaded F-150, Denali, Suburban, Land Rover Discovery

So true guys. When you have brand loyalty owners stick with you through thick and thin. Jeep and Tesla were mentioned and they're great examples. Both brands have had well known quality and reliability issues but they're both enjoying record sales regardless.
  8. Rivian payload / towing capacity and trailer brake controller

I see that the R1T and R1S has a payload capacity of 1,700-1,800 lbs and R1T can tow an incredible 11,000 lbs while the R1S can tow 7,700 lbs. That blows away any mid-size SUV/truck currently available. Those #'s sound great on paper and I have plans to use mine for some towing but I'm...
  9. Cool Rivian facts & history

Great move recognizing the shift from cars to SUV/Trucks that many years ago. That might have saved the company. If they'd kept up development of a coupe until recently they'd be bringing to market a vehicle few are interested in now, like the Volvo Polestar.
