I just got my truck, but I'm hoping I can turn off auto lock/unlock and I won't have to worry about the battery drain or proximity of my phone. My car is in my closed garage, but I don't like auto lock/unlock because of the security risk of the radio repeater thefts.
That would be awesome. I just want a first one open. I appreciate all that work that went into the google maps one that shows all the future ones. I somehow want a different map layer that only shows open RAN stations (of which there are 0).
Do you mean cybertruck will launch with a ccs plug on it?
I haven't read anywhere that cybertruck is launching with ccs. I'm sure the internal electronics will be ccs capable as all last few years teslas are (their signaling works with ccs). But I would be really shocked if it shipped without...
Yeah, imagine the US and Europe trying to help them at the end of a 3000 mile airplane ride. Ukraine is like practice for Taiwan in terms of world reactions and support for democracies.
There are some user curated ones, for RAN, like this one - but apparently no RAN stations are currently open, so these are all future. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/2/viewer?mid=1F-jpeAQfTwoHqy4dYtOStXLckGA714TJ&ll=40.59851631990813%2C-93.810149&z=3
For the waypoints there are lots of them...
It's terrible and really just stealing from customers to charge by the minute. In those systems, there's no incentive to charge you rapidly, indeed the incentive when charging by time is to charge you slowly.
I just want to see one RAN open. Last I read that one in Colorado was completed but not yet operational. Is there a list of operational stations you can use in your r1t? It's disappointing to see these very large lists of 'in progress' stations with none being operational afaik. And if one is...
If she really said the pricing was going to be the same $75k amount with the crazy overpriced $3,500 dark tires, rivian should support that. That's probably a mistake, because those $3,500 extra tires are just pure profit for them. I think you could have made her complained and gotten dark tires...
Got contacted by a guide today. I want to see the LE LG FE in person once. I was kind of hoping I'd have another month to organize my loan, need to start that tomorrow.
Rivian couldn't just wait until their car was mature and matched Tesla. Besides vampire drain they are missing the easy and obvious battery preconditioning before charging feature. Everyone is rushing their cars to market, it's unrealistic or naive to expect a high quality bar. It would be...
Heating via electric heater is all electric cars have basically, so in the winter they really waste their energy on that (gas cars get hot for free almost). Heat pumps produce heat much more efficiently, but also you can do a second order thing like tesla does which is combine that with battery...
The tesla wired charger is now 'only' $400 and supports 48 amps - the max power of the rivian as well as recent model teslas note it's the tesla plug, not j1772. The tesla tap 50 amp adapter (which allows any j1772 vehicle to use that l2 charger at 48amps inc Rivian vehicles) is $150 on amazon...
But what is the kw rating coming out?
Since rivian's onboard charger is max 48amps at 240v, if you had an 80 or 60 amp input through the evse going through the tesla tap, the most the rivian would take would still be 48 amps, right? So the question here is why was that not listed as 21.2 mph of...
I'm just speculating but based on how they keep adding new features, and are missing basic stuff like preheating batteries I'd say they haven't come back and done refinements like battery efficiency. Really Rivian is following the experience of the early Tesla days, and that's a good thing...
