Unfortunately, Iām back in Texas and (as the photo suggests) the RTT is stored for the winter. Ski racks are next! Iāll take a video next spring. When I mounted it the first time, I took a while (and had 2 friends there to help). When I removed it and stored it last week, it was just me and...
I need to do some calculations to figure the range hit. Otherās have reported 10% for taller RTTās. I would expect it to be a bit less for the Falcon because itās so slim.
Here are the best photos I have that shows overhang. Itās 3ā over the front crossbar and 4ā for the rear. What you...
I was in the market for a rooftop tent for my R1S. (I figured that if I was going to entice my wife into campingāsheās never beenāit would have to be a comfortable and relatively easy ordeal.) I considered the Rivian/Yakima option but decided to splurge on a hard-shell RTT. I also wanted a...
UPDATE!
Yesterday was an absolutely glorious day, so my wife and I decided to take Norman back to Gold King Basin and camp for the night in our RTT (Roofnest Falcon 2 XL). This was our first outing with the Roofnest.
As I mentioned last week, the trail to Gold King Basin has a few challenging...
My wife and took Norman (our R1S) and drove some friends to Gold King Basin this Saturday for a picnic. Gold King Basin is located just South of Telluride and adjoins Alta Lakes. The road up GKB/AL is mostly single lane with occasional turn-outs or wider areas to give way. The drive is rated...
The Pre-Adventure ends; the Real Adventure begins. Yesterday, my wife and I took delivery of Norman Rivera (āNormā) our new R1S!
We had pre-ordered the R1S (Adventure, FG, BM + DAW, 20ā AT) In March 2021. Originally, we planned to take delivery in Texas and were given a delivery window of Q3...
Oh! I didnāt realize that. The build I purchased does not have the spare (at least itās not listed) but it does have the 20ā AT wheels/tires and the underbody shield. I know on the current configurator, I couldnāt spec the 20ā AT wheels/tires without specing the AT package.
Iāve always had the dark 20ās on my build. But while my wheels/tires are the same, I did switch from Forrest Green to EC Granite, and the interior from Black to Ocean Coast and dark wood. This build also has the wrap and underbody plate which my build did not.
It turns out that the reason I lost access to the R1 Shop WAS because I asked my Guide to change my delivery location. My new location was more than 250 miles from a Rivian Service Center. If you are more than 250 miles from an SC, you apparently donāt get access.
So, I reminded my guide...
I just jumped on 153XX in the Shop this morning. Itās supposedly in Normal. Iām taking delivery at the Denver SC. My guide told me it should be about 4 weeks.
Hi. Iāve got an R1S on order (since March 2021). I live in Texas but will use my Rivian in Colorado. In late May, I was invited to the R1 Shop. At the time the inventory I saw was limited. About a month ago, I received another email and took a new look. There was a lot of inventory...
Awesome. I look forward to it. Iāve got a charger installed at my place up there, so at least Iām covered when home. But, Iām looking forward to taking trips (to Moab, Sante Fe, etc) and am glad to hear they do well at elevation.
Please let us know how the trip goes.
I live in Austin and have a place in Telluride. I will be (hopefully) taking delivery of my R1S next month. I had originally planned to take delivery in Austin and immediately drive it to Telluride (where it will live most of the year) but just changed my...
I was thrilled when Rivian posted the RAN map. Occasionally, Iāll be driving from Telluride to ABQ or Santa Fe - 330 miles. With a 400 mile battery, maybe I could do it without charging, but I would never count on it. I ordinarily grab a bite in Aztec. Tesla has a SuperCharger in Farmington...
