Last week towing 380 miles; range dropped about 1/3 due to the 6,000 lbs. Did not even notice the load while towing😎
Truck is a beast even on steep hills.
Similar rates; State Farm multi line discounts, 2 EV cars in locked garage, 25+ years with this insurance company. Clean records, 2 retired drivers 65+ years old, rural CA San Luis Obispo County.
Similar EV life experience: first EV was the 2011 Leaf which we drove as a lease for 44,000 miles in 3 years as a commute car and a few 3 day trips up to 200 miles round trip. 12 EVs later with over 500,000 EV miles to date in all EVs, our 2022 R1T has had a few minor warranty issues but...
Try Carvana to trade in. We received high KBB private party trade in on our immaculate like brand new 36000 mile 2022 Bolt. Trade in process was fast, easy and painless. They sent a flatbed truck to us to buy it with a check. No “funny business”.

Pirelli Scorpions,
Started at 48 psi cold went up to 53 hot tires.
Factory Rivian hitch.
UHaul
Trailer weight 2500 lbs empty, plus about 4000 1999 Carrara additional weight.
Truck pulled this load no problem 70-75mph on freeway. Load did not faze the quad '22 R1T at all. Plenty of power...
Where does one get those battery adapter? Are four needed for the 2022 or early 2023 R1T with two 12 volts?
Also, curious as to where the battery tender hooks up on a two 12 volt system? Photo?
A battery tender would seem to extend 12 volt battery life. I watched a video off YouTube talking...
Nice. However how does one do the reset off a computer(Rivian does this in the service center when changing the 12 volt battery or two 12 volts if early 2023 and 2022) to clear codes/battery icon?
I think you missed my point 😉
If all Superchargers are full while our Rivian takes up two spots and a Tesla arrives to charge, EV charging courtesy common sense would be to move and let them charge. Hogging two spaces in this case IMHO isn't fair.
Just be courteous when using tesla SuperChargers. Be prepared to move if you take 2 spots and all others are full when a Tesla arrives for a charger.
Best practices: park at an angle on an end spot, or four wheel it and use the back side to charge. This way you won't block 2 charging spots...
2 new 12 volt batteries installed @ Fresno Rivian Service Center this morning. Here's what the old ones looked like.
This service location is only 2 months old and very nice. They could have sent a mobile to my house (2 1/2 hours each way) but I would have had to wait until after my trip next...
I have done my own tire rotations on the R1T. No need to buy a torque battery or plug in wrench. Long breaker bar is fine. Accurate torque hand wrench for tightening lug nuts to proper spec definitely needed in x pattern.
Two hydraulic jacks needed. Safety jack stands as well.
45-60 min job...
Seems crazy not to be able to do the 2 12 volt battery replacement myself. I watched the Ommu YouTube video. Looks easy enough to do.
But there are mixed reviews using the there batteries.
And Rivian will void warranty if not done to their specs. And Rivian will not sell me their batteries 🤷♂️
