    The keypad on the door pillar is one my favorite features on my Mach E. Wish other manufacturers could/would adopt a feature like that.

    My feeling is that CarPlay allows us to use our existing phone data plans for all of our “app data”. This limits the value of the Rivian Connection+ subscription or whatever it is called. I think that’s the real reason they don’t want to allow it.

    I haven’t actually ridden in a Rivian yet, (contemplating a move once my Mach-e is out of battery warranty) but I kind of like a little motor whine. Reminds me it is doing something.

    The prejudice against EV owners by the average American is probably similar to the prejudice against non-EV owners by the average EV owner. There are zealots on both sides. But most humans know how to be polite in person.

    I’ve got a Mustang Mach E and love Ford’s keypad on the pillar just for situations like this. I’m really surprised other manufacturers haven’t developed something similar.
