Through a friend of a friend I heard about the over torqued bolt problem. I took that side trim off the bed and loosened the bolts holding the electronically activated switch a little bit (quarter turn). This solved the problem for me. I think it works better than original because I don't have...

Same problem gate shows closed but is open and won't latch. Doing the trick with holding it closed and pressing the open button worked once but stopped working. Only three weeks old. So frustrating. Clearly bad design. Also no scheduled service date yet.

Are those separate panels or do they fold up? Does it fit in the gear tunnel? Is there a video of installation and removal?
