  1. 48A vs. 40A for home charging??

When we built our home 5 years ago, I had a 50amp breaker with NEMA 14-50 receptacle installed in our garage thinking we’d likely have an EV or plug-in hybrid in the future. When I got my R1S I decided to start by using the Rivian Portable Charger and leave it plugged in to the NEMA 14-50...
  2. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Thanks, Silva, for your helpful story. Thanks to what you and others have shared, I know a couple things I can do to prepare properly and I’m now confident about driving my R1S to the airport and parking it for an extended time.
  3. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Electrify America/APS has 4 DCFC’s in the Yavapai College parking lot. I’ve not used them ā€˜cuz I charge at home, but believe they’re 150KW. I believe that’s it for public charging; there are some level 2 chargers at a couple hotels in town and quite possibly elsewhere, too.
  4. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Thanks for the link…..that experience sounds like no fun at all. In the past few minutes I just learned that the covered parking garage we normally use has 120V outlets, so my current plan is to bring my Portable Charger and keep it plugged in while we’re gone.
  5. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

Thanks, guys…..lots of good input. I’ll let you know what I end up doing.
  6. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

I’m with you on that, Tim, and used to do it all the time when we lived in Mpls maybe 10 miles from MSP.. We’re about 110 miles from the Phoenix airport unfortunately. Or, fortunately since we’re in Prescott AZ at 5700 ft where it’s 20F cooler than in Phoenix ?
  7. Leaving R1S at airport for 12 days?

This is partly about charging and partly about battery health, so I appreciate everyone’s patience with a long post that mixes a couple topics. I picked up my R1S from the Phoenix Service Center on June 26 and absolutely love it. (I know I’m delinquent on getting posts done re: the vehicle...
  8. 20k miles and 9 months in. Quick takes on my R1T.

I chuckled and chuckled for a good minute or more when I read your vehicle experience list. From a 1969 Plymouth GTX Hemi convert (fond memories of vehicle lust in my HS years) through to a Kubota backhoe. That is an awesome range of vehicles, man! As an R1S pre-order holder expecting mine in...
  9. New R1S owner (former Model Y owner) in Flagstaff, AZ

Congrats Caleb! Blueberry looks great. We’re located in Prescott and have an R1S coming in Jul-Sep of this year. I’ve seen a few R1Ts around but no R1S’s yet, so glad to see they’re making their way into northern Arizona. XPEL question - what parts of Blueberry did you get the PPF on?
  10. [Poll] How did your R1S delivery estimate change w/ latest update?

    >3 mo. earlier here… R1S LAS, BM, UB shield, 20ā€ AT. Pre-ordered 03/21. Estimated delivery was ā€œ2024ā€, now Jul-Sep 2023. 65 miles north of Phoenix Service Center. Don’t know that it made any difference, but FWIW I had support make a note in early January on my pre-order that I was willing to...
  11. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

No, I selected a Large Pack. The nearest service center is in Phoenix 64 miles away. That’s not ā€œin townā€ but also not that far in Rivian’s estimation I wouldn’t think. I plan to contact them Monday to see if there’s any way I can improve my delivery window.
  12. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

Back in June 2022, my delivery window was communicated to be first half 2023. Today, it is listed as ā€œ2024ā€. Happy for those who got good news, but this is a delay well beyond what I expected.
  13. Guide call & PBA signed for R1S... mid-may delivery

FWIW, I had a call with support in early January and asked about HUD because I’ve really liked it in my BMW. He said ā€œno HUDā€ option.
