Manufacturers wants to sell cars, not have them sit. My guess is Rivian anticipated new sales would be hard and started calling cars "2025" model year early to avoid being stuck with 2024 cars in 2025.
I drove by the Brooklyn delivery/service station. I spoke with someone inside, and they have a lot of cars sitting there that are not sold. Some still have the separate dynamic Glass roof, not the combined Sound + Vision Package.
I was waiting for more incentives. I even offered to buy one...
I find it hard to predict cost to build or sale price of a product 2 years from now. My personal thought is they need to get more products in peoples hands which is a combination of incentives and many more service centers. Having to drive an hour or more for service is a deal killer...
Annoying to lose out on the $3k. Hard to time a market. I am one of those on the fence about when to order. $3k is good, there might be better deals in December. However, better deals might be on configurations that are less desirable.
Might as well enjoy the new ride.
I have been following the R1s. They seem to have the same lease rates. Hopefully, new incentives will be announced soon. We shall see how the November 7th earnings call looks
Buyers should not assume the incentives will be thousands of dollars. Maybe a few hundred.
If you want a certain build, the Rivian may not be available in the shop by the time the additional incentives are announced.
I am also waiting for additional incentives. Considering Amazon, VW, and others are investing in the company, they should be fine for the next few years,
I went to the Electrify expo on Long Island. The Rivian staff does not know about additional incentives but would not be surprised if they...
I do not follow how the supply chain or a factory being out of operation affected the Q3 sales numbers.
They produced more vehicles than they sold (produced 13,157 sold 10,018) If the supply chain and factory did not have issues and they made 16,000 cars would they have still sold the same...
From what I was told and read online, the performance upgrade's extra power is only felt in sport mode and not all-purpose. Does anyone else have the performance upgrade and feel different?
I am hoping for a better deal come year-end. The lease on my current car is up in early December. A friend who works at a Cadillac dealership told me they never know what the end-of-year deals are until Dec. Typically they are better, however, Rivian is a different animal.
This has been very helpful
@McLovin Regarding financing. We will be leasing. I am trying to understand the Interest rate, Do we have to use Rivian Financing? Residual value, does Rivian offer wheel and tire coverage?
When we test drove the car in Brooklyn it was impossible to go past...
Thank you all for jumping in and helping guide me. We are considering this a more local car so sounds like no need for the upgrade.
FYI - We drove the Model X today and felt the Rivian, was nicer overall, even the ride. We are waiting for the salespeople to call and explain the financing...
We test-drove the R1S yesterday. Unfortunately, the salesperson knew little about the batteries or the financing.
I understand EPA mileage varies but to use that as a benchmark
Online:
Dual Standard 22” Sport Bright has EPA 270MI
Dual Standard 20” All Season has EPA 258MI.
Do the above have...
