I had the same thing happen. Make sure they check the drive train as well. Apparently, my drive train is kaput which (somehow) turned into a complete battery malfunction. Both have to be totally replaced (truck is 2 months old with 1500 miles).
Well - received a call from Rivian. The service rep was super nice, but her news was not good. My Rivian has a complete drive train malfunction which led to a complete battery failure. Both the drive train and battery need to be replaced (which is on top of a the steering column issue)...
They are coming this morning to take the truck away. It's a bummer - love the R1T and I realize its early in production, but man I am having so many issues with it. Steering column, rattle in the back (there was an airvent that was put in improperly), tire cover in the flatbed wouldnt shut...
I have 1700 miles on it. Had to get it serviced a week ago due to shaking in the steering column. Today - I went to the garage and it smelled like an electrical fire. Got in the vehicle and there was a critical battery alert. Car will not move. Waiting for them to help
