I think insurance has started low balling initial quotes in hopes that people just take the cash and run rather than offering a much larger amount. Our Y recently got into a bit of a winter fender bender that we were offered like 1k and the final bill was like 8k
Which I think is fine. It goes in line with my second statement. People will opt for path of least resistance more often than not and price was a barrier for a lot to take on the new technology/unknowns. Unfortunately there's a lot of people who buy cars purely based on how much room they have...
If you need the $7500 to be able to "afford" the car then you can't afford the car. That being said I do think it's overall bad that it went away already given the rest of the world seems to still be subsidizing them.

Are there any issues with the power tonneau cover? Was it replaced?
What's the service history? Any major replacements (battery/drive units/suspension/etc)?
