If they do limit on the top end, then I suspect they wont want people to know that. If you can charge to 100% without effecting the health of the battery, then people will be much less likely to purchase the upgrade to expanded capacity.
Thanks, I will ask them when I pick it up. Who knows if they will tell me. If they limit at the top end, then the probably don't want you to know that. If that was the case, and you can regularly charge to 100% without harming the longevity of the battery, then people would be much less likely...
I ordered the new Large battery on the 2025 model. It comes in next month. Rivian told me that it comes with the Max battery but is limited via software to reduce the capacity to 330 miles vs 410 with the Max battery. The max battery is a $14,000 upgrade and the Large battery is $7,000. They...
I understand that. My question is, because they artificially limit the total capacity to 80% of the full max battery, 100% would actually only be 80% of the full charge potential of the batteries
If the large batty is a max battery capped at 80%, why wouldn't you be able to charge to 100% all the time if you are actually only charging to 80% of the real capacity?
If the new "Large" battery pack option is actually the "Max" battery option with a software limit, can you charge regularly to 100%, since the batteries are actually not full because of the software capping the charge of the batteries
