    Great advice... Road trip over this last weekend, with the brake pedal definitely moving during decel while on assist. Bummer. Makes sense thinking through it, as the rear motor is decoupled at speed so would be unable regenerate. The Mazdas only use rear brakes in these mild slow down...

    One has to ask then, on the `25+ models with Platform+ have they gone entirely to regen for highway braking. Brake assist is no longer an option (and candidly makes zero sense unless needed "in emergency") .
