I do not disagree, I also considered in tapping in to the trailer plug. I am just really reluctant to void any warranty by splicing wires which I stated in the OP which is why I ran the wire from the gear tunnel.
It was super simple. You first have to remove the back panel if I remember right. Then there is only a few bolts ad the 2 tie down and the panel lays right down without effecting the top trim. It should show in the pics I posted.
#5 I expirenced myself and it was frustrating. With my wife being shorter and thinner, it was a real pain. I had visions of getting crushed between the seat and the stering wheel like in the movie Christine. Like me, you did this to yourself when you removed and added your profile and / or...
My thoughts exactly. I charged there back in spring on a trip from joshua tree to denver. I was grateful for this RAN and was very pleased. Was a lovely little grocery store, got me a bag of coffee from a small regional roaster, used the restroom, then went across the street to a couple...
Here is a recent trip I took from Gallup. NM to the Grand Canyon through the back country in the Navajo Nation without any charging stops. You can see from the gauge I did 284.7 miles driving for 4 hours and 29 min. the Outlet used 17.7miles to power my ICECO cooler. The power inverter uses a...
Yes I could have, but as I stated in my original post I did not want to hard wire, splice or anyting that could potentially void any warranties. The plug is not a problem or me.
I wanted to have the option to power my cooler with 12v in the truck bed while driving rather than using the inverter to same on mileage on long distance trips.
I took off a couple panels in the bed to see if there is a way to run power from either the trailer hitch or the gear tunnel. The...
My total range at 100% is 411 miles, the desert was hot so we used AC, and we had some head winds, oh and out plug in cooler. As I said I think we could easily could have done 300, not sure 400. I dont think I have a conserve mode on my model
We work from home so most daily trips are to drop off FedEx, grocery, and Dr appts. Other than that we try to get out once a month and longer trips like this once a quarter to see something besides my shop
Sorry this is so long....
We just got back from our most recent road trip to see our daughter in Denver. When we travel, we always meander and sight see.
We did this in our 2023 R1T Dual Max.
Our trip started at home in Joshua Tree, CA to Gallup NM , Durango CO, Buena Vista Co, Denver...
I am a little disappointed that this is the only small part of my original comment that is quoted. As I stated I am historically a single pedal driver from my stick shift and Motorcycle beginnings. In the end I use the break pedal no more in low regen as I did in high regen. My main point of...
I do not have anything in writing from the Rivian. I have heard it mentioned in interbviws, and was my years experience from my tesla. Lastly You can see it for yourself when you you are going fast with low regen and you press the break you can watch the regen increase as you press harder in...
I use to be a regen on high person too, but did some pondering on it and changed to low regen and appears my range has maybe a slight improvement it defiantly has not gotten worse.
My reasoning that caused me to switch and suggest you try it too is...
The amount of kWh added back the the...
