  1. Severe Damage Found Replacing Tonneau Cover Not Disclosed to Buyer

Brad on 9th is getting a shiny new vehicle. This is the way.
  2. Rivian was listed among Consumer Reports "Worst Car Brands for 2024"

Its hilarious how in this thread people are shooting the messenger for telling us what surveys told CR. Yet, just recently CR told us how much owners loved their Rivians. Everybody was good with that one. There is ample evidence that the other worst car brands on the list do have bad...
  3. ⚡️ Rivian announces: March Tesla Supercharger access & free NACS adapters!

The L2 chargers at trailheads should be confused with the RAN. The RAN played a huge role in my own purchasing decision, and I imagine other people as well. When it comes to marketing its more about creating an illusion of what's possible than what we actually do. There is federal funding...
  4. I hate when I pull up to this...

I have a feeling like earthlings are basically a write off in the big scheme of things. Its probably near the point where either the creation (Gaia) or the creator (aliens/simulation/god) is thinking a reset is in order. For the sake of wildlife I hope they conclude that its just an...
  5. Take Control NOW!!

The most common one I see is some variation that the cameras are partially blinded. Either by glare or a little rain. The second most common one I see is that the road doesn't match what it has in its database due to construction. It happens at the exact same location repeatedly.
  6. ⚡️ Rivian announces: March Tesla Supercharger access & free NACS adapters!

As it was originally conceived the RAN was meant to enable adventures in parts that were underserviced by other charging options. Partnering with Tesla simply makes it so they can better optimize the location of the RAN. I don't expect the RAN to go anywhere as its a big part of enabling the...
  7. We need more "Home" locations!

I turned off bluetooth access to the Rivian app because it kept making weird noises when I'd work out in the garage. This was even with passive entry turned off for the phone. Hopefully they redid the entire passive entry system for the R2. I also hope they'll start selling the wrist band so...
  8. We need more "Home" locations!

Down the street? Haha. More like 200+ miles away when they need to get away from people. The Rivian is really an ideal vehicle for someone with a second home that's within the range of a single charge. I can charge at home, and then drive 220 miles where I arrive with about 50-60 miles left...
  9. We need more "Home" locations!

It doesn't necessarily have to be multiple homes. It could be a parents place, work place (if I had an office close to my vehicle) or significant others. Maybe there needs to be some other definition for it. Maybe Saved Locations. Keep in mind this is really just a workout for a pour...
  10. Rivian was listed among Consumer Reports "Worst Car Brands for 2024"

From this article it looks like it failed at predicted reliability where owners surveyed reported encountering major problems within the first few weeks of ownership. I don't think there is any denying that there is truth to that. I wasn't surveyed, but I did encounter a major problem within...
  11. We need more "Home" locations!

I agree. My R1T simply has too much range with the keyfob so it throws a bunch of "vehicle is unlocked" issues. At my "home" I simply have it set to lock only which 99 times out of 100 works fine. At my non-home home I have to put the fob into a tin box, and this works well. Aside it...
  12. R1S Down for The Count

If only the Count had installed DCFC when they got everyone excited by mentioning the possibility of installing one.
  13. Rivian IIHS safety ratings downgraded to Top Safety Pick (no more plus)

They made the rating system harder https://arstechnica.com/cars/2024/02/automotive-crash-testing-just-got-harder-in-2024-which-oems-did-well/ Hopefully Rivian can add better pedestrian detection to get back the plus rating.
  14. Now Available: 2024.07.02 Software Update: Tesla Supercharger Access Coming Soon, Navigation Improvements, Room Entry And Exit Enhancements & More

I also did around 8 hours of driving this 4 day weekend. I feel like the slowdown for corners is actually unsafe because it does so in a corner. It doesn't seem to slow down before a corner. The resume on lane change is pretty nifty, but I didn't have an issue with the previous one. I love how...
  15. Now Available: 2024.07.02 Software Update: Tesla Supercharger Access Coming Soon, Navigation Improvements, Room Entry And Exit Enhancements & More

I think they're kinda shooting themselves in the foot by not having any kind of bug reporting mechanism. If they did they'd likely take care of most of the bugs early on. Like they still haven't fixed the FM radio bug. It's been in there since I bought the vehicle nearly 2 years ago. Instead...
  16. [Updated w/ Video] RJ Scaringe discusses R2 & Rivian in Forbes article (2/20/24)

I think I'll just test it with gloves on. :-) I'm sure I'll confirm your findings. It makes sense why they'd do it that way.
  17. [Updated w/ Video] RJ Scaringe discusses R2 & Rivian in Forbes article (2/20/24)

How did you test this? Does it revert to the torque sensor if you have thick gloves on (the type that's not compatible with touch screens and so forth)? If true this is good news for the Dexters of the world.
  18. Rivian Layoff 10% Staff and Lowers Production Forecast for 2024

You just have to avoid cutting the 10% that do 80% of the work.
