Yeah I don't think planning on purchasing something without actually purchasing it obligates you to the original cost you had planned for.
Given their track record, I would assume they're working out a way to be in concert with their customers, rather than punitive.
This is my exact situation as well. I have a delivery date scheduled next month. I spoke with Rivian guide, and then eventually called customer service to cancel (and then re-order, the strategy you laid out). He "bubbled up" the issue (I assume this is sales/CS jargon for asking your boss), and...
Thanks for the reply. The frequency of the notifications is what truly bothers me, and it lasts for 30 minutes or so while driving down the hill. I don't know whether the battery temperature keeps narrowly fluctuating above and below the temperature threshold, and this would be fixed by...
Has anyone had any issues with repeated notifications of the acceleration and brake regen being limited while the battery warms up?
This is a recurrent issue for me, and I'm trying to figure out whether something is wrong with my vehicle, or it is the nature of the travel/trip. The...
Another issue I've had with the notifications is their frequency. On my most recent trip to Tahoe the notification about limited acceleration and regen until the battery warms up (ambient temp low 40s) occurred about every 30-60 seconds for 30 minutes. It was actually quite annoying. I wish they...
I've used valet a few times with the key fob, at nice hotels that reassured me I was not the first Rivian they've come across. These hotels also charged the truck for me, which was nice. Make sure to check on it (via app) and lock the doors overnight though. On the most recent Tahoe overnight...
I suspect one purpose of generating a pre-emptive email devoid of any detail is to informally solicit opinions of passionate Rivian followers (ie in this forum).
Perhaps we can give them an opportunity to amend their plans to avoid (most) pitchforks in the first place.
In that spirit, my...
I have also noticed a drop in efficiency (from 2.4 to 2.0, a significant difference) over my daily work commute, starting the day after the most recent update. And although the weather is now colder, it wasn't immediately colder the day after the update completed.
VIN/invitation to start the purchasing process: 7/25
Truck on rail (likely): 7/26
Call to schedule pick-up at West Sacramento SC: 8/19
Scheduled pick-up: 8/27 (though earlier dates were offered)
Good luck to all.
It's funny how some guides will share estimated location of the trucks in transit (or at least some geographical descriptor), and even expected SC delivery dates, while others (including mine) will only say that they're in transit at all, and hesitate on giving timeframes, other than 2-4+ weeks...
Originally July-August, pushed back to October-November. As of last Friday the vehicle ID was still "null". This AM got the 8-steps e-mail and a VIN assigned (95**) on my original configuration order. My guide says the vehicle is "completed" and awaiting shipment (via rail...so who knows). He...
It certainly doesn't help that every single truck in the "R1T shop" had 21" wheels (about 6 of them last week, now inventory is 0). I remain highly suspicious the 20" ATs are the root cause for the delayed deliveries.
Funny. I had an opposite response (though admittedly, I'm not quite as far along).
Guide assigned and PBA signed last week, but no vehicle seemingly selected in the production queue yet.
I contacted my guide today and he informed me the delayed delivery date WOULD be accurate, much to my...
This. I just had my guide call last week, so I (foolishly?) assumed that was an indication of progress. I was pushed back from july-sept to oct-nov. I also noted the survey on guide-contact-to-delivery time of most people (~80%) happening within 2-4 weeks. I haven’t reached out to my guide yet...
