My wife and I have been living in our R1S while traveling across the US for the past three months or so. It’s been a really fun and awesome adventure, but after all of the experience we’ve gained, the main thought that keeps coming up again and again is how we wish we had more room. I think...

My R1S was rear-ended last night. Fortunately the crash was very minor. No one was hurt. My R1S does not even appear to be damaged. I had a bike rack on, with two ebikes, and the impact dented the handle on my bike rack. The rack is still useable. The other car the rear-ended me...
Hello everyone-- been a while since I've posted. Just wanted to share this blog my wife and I filmed about our ongoing adventure with our Rivian R1S, living in the road and exploring the country. Chapters for specific topics covered are in the video description.
I hope you all find this...
While Car Camping in the R1S, I keep the bluetooth locking and unlocking ability disabled, as the car will tend to unlock itself while I'm sleeping in it with my phone. Unlocking and locking the car with the app works reasonably well, but there are times when I might forget, and it's also a...
Hello Everyone,
If you've been following my posts over the course of my time here, you'd know that my wife and I have been on a cross-country van life-style road trip in our Gen 2 R1S Dual Motor Max Pack. I've fallen quite far behind on editing and uploading videos, so the videos I have been...
Hey Everyone,
my wife and I have been traveling across North America in our Rivian R1S (dual motor, max pack trim) for the past month and some change. I recorded this video around the 10 day mark when we were in Auburn, WA. I go over some of the stats of our energy efficiency, electron...
Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I've posted. Easy to get sidetracked while traveling, and forget to make time to actually edit and upload. Still capturing tons and tons of footage, though. My wife and I have now been traveling the US for 33(!) days in our R1S. Loving every moment of it...
Shoutout to user Blank_Lemur and his post about DIY Window Covers. I used his design to make my reflectix covers, and walk through my process in the above video. Wife and I have been on the road for 11 Days now and the reflectix covers are working great. Look forward to using them for the next...
Hey Everyone,
A few weeks ago my wife and I moved out of our Apartment so we rented a trailer to put in our furniture that was worth keeping in order to transport it to her parents (and my parents) houses for storage until we get back from our five month cross-country roadtrip.
Heres the...
Wife and I left SoCal for a 5-month cross-country EV odyssey in the R1S with two Lectric eBikes. This was at our first supercharger stop in Bakersfield, CA. Chicken came out really good! If somewhat bland. My rookie mistake was not pre-marinating any chickens before leaving the house. Next time...
Hey all--thanks for checking out some of the other videos I've shared in this forum of my adventures with my R1S. I'm sharing a different kind of video now, a podcast that I recorded with my wife while we were driving back from a recent camping trip, that's introductions and about how we are...
This is my first camping video from my first camping trip with the R1S. Currently tooling up for six months of life on the road with the R1S. Hope you all find it interesting!
After looking up some recommendations for coolers that fit the R1S subtrunk, I found a reddit post, and decided to make a video of myself putting those recommendations and instructions in action.
Hope this is helpful for anyone else looking for a refrigerator/freezer/cooler to fit the Subtrunk...
A video overview of my build, talking through some of the choices i made in building the platform, and how much more storage it added. I'm pretty happy with it, and will be testing it out on a camping trip later this week!
A longer asmr-style build video is also coming soon.
Hello everyone,
I got an R1S three weeks ago and am outfitting it for a 6-month crosscountry road trip. As part of that build out I am removing the middle row of seats to make a bed platform. Here's a video I made of removing the platform, based on instructions that I found on this forum post.
