After some delay getting the tyres, same from me – big shout out to Santiago and Aleks and their help getting the AW08 to Switzerland. Impressed by the quality and feel, and they look amazing!!
In Switzerland my R1S is limited to 5 seats because of the 3.5 ton limit. This might change in the future (and may already be different in Germany) because of the ruling to raise the limit of B-category vehicles and drivers licenses to 4.25 tons for vehicles with alternative propulsion systems...
A little over 1 year after shipping our R1S out of California it's now finally registered here in Switzerland! I forgot how great a vehicle it is after this long time (and driving an electric Skoda in the meantime), I'm so glad to have it back. But not having a service center is a real headache...
Hey @jpjh, I have imported my R1S to Switzerland and have all documentation to get it road legal – as soon as it's back from the NYC service center where the park brake failure is being repaired. Shoot me a DM if you need anything.
Congrats @oak202!! It's interesting how every country handles vehicles brought over as household goods differently. My R1S has been in Switzerland since July and we actually need to do electromagnetic compliance and electronic safety tests, which is only needed once per car and valid for all of...
Navigation doesn't work, no; tethering to the phone only works while in Park, as soon is driving starts that connection is capped. Not that I'm gonna be driving anywhere any time soon... ?
I'm trying to get ahold of someone on the Rivian Amazon van crew in Germany, I'm assuming they must have...
Just saw this thread – wy R1S has been in Switzerland since June and we made steady progress toward registration. Last thing we need to do is electromagnetic compliance testing, which is required for cars imported as household goods while all the other requirements (such as pedestrian impact...
This looks like it needs other accessories to attach, right? Guess I'll have to go to a shop and physically look at the things.
Oh I have one, I bike as well, but it's kinda embarrassing to have the compressor and then being unable to inflate a simple bike tire. ?
The air hose that comes with the vehicle is too bulky to be able to connect to the valves of my kids’ bikes (12 and 14 inch wheels). I probably lack the proper search terms, so Amazon has been unhelpful – has anyone a recommendation for an elbow adapter or similar that I can use for kids bike...
Yeah, same feeling. VIN 15xx and I wouldn't have noticed. Maybe having it will increase the resale price in 40 years when these things become collector items.
So interesting, we have a very similar timeline and I registered just to reply to this (with the handle I picked when submitting my R1S to the tracking sheet ?):
Ordered May 2019, 8-Step Opened: 11/16/22, Delivery: 12/14/22, VIN 15xx and I have the plastic covers, not the wooden ones.
