1 - I hope you're correct but where does this knowledge of reservations come from? I am a late reserver (13 June) and Rivian says I can order in November so the backlog doesn't seem so high.
5 & 6 - ~$10k gross profit is about 18% gross margin which is strong. This is where Tesla currently...
He's pumping Rivian because they compete with Tesla who is in a robotaxi competition with Uber. Uber knows their business model is short lived without a chunk of robotaxi business.
Pet mode and camp mode aren't at all "phone integration and mapping" as I stated. The Google Built In handles hands free calls and text messages perfectly. Media streaming too. Mapping is also hands free and chooses the optimum route every single time. Voice updates to find and add a stop...
Well those are some badass kids because my wife's Cadillac Lyriq software works perfectly with vastly superior phone integration and mapping. Hate the chassis though!
Tesla has sold 10 million vehicles over their entire history. They have 1.5 million subscribers. 1.5/10 = 15%. That is exactly what I stated!
I just looked and ~4.2M Teslas have ever been sold in nations with FSD approval. This doesn't inlcude China since they have only gave partial approval...
This is very misleading. The 15% is derived from the entire sales history of Tesla. FSD has only become good this year. Take rates for FSD in 2026 are near 50%. The price for used Tesla vehicles is drastically different for hardware 3 versus hardware 4 simply because the latest FSD needs HW4.
If the stock price is already inflated then it doesn't reverse based on a single earnings beat. Don't forget this "beat" is just a lower loss. If stock valuation were to truly track earnings all loss making companies should have a negative valuation.
From a non stock based view it is nice to...
For sure the Cayenne console is useless. I already have planned a few tweaks once I get mine to increase utility.
I also feel the Rivian R2 has nailed interior utility. The doors with the mega-bottle storage and sunglass shelf is two steps ahead of everyone. Console is perfect too except the...
I did not spec Porsche Active Ride. I have experienced it in the Taycan. I feel the system improves ride comfort when cruising but detracts from "sportiness". It feels unnatural. As you crank the drive mode knob from normal - sport - sport+ Porsche reduces the effect of PAR which shows they...
Saying no one cross shops an R2 with a Cayenne EV is simply wrong. I have a Cayenne S EV due in August. It's $143k. Why would I pay the ~$80k premium over an R2? For the superior handling you get in a Porsche. I can afford the cost difference and though I seldom splurge on myself, I decided...
Notice the date as the 12th? Also, I',m not sure about Rivian but I have a Porsche Cayenne EV on order and they assigned a VIN a month ago and that bastard hasn't been built yet!
That guy is a boob. Doesn't know nearly as much as he should but he has some good employees. He lost the impetus for their online presence, Corey Steuben, to Lucid. Corey led HUGE IMPROVEMENTS in design efficiency with the new Lucid Cosmos....maybe even a step beyond what Rivian has done with...
The issue with your reasoning is so few people are willing to read 4 measely paragraphs. The EV industry, as a whole, needs to find a way to distill your message into about two sentences. I'm gonna plagiarize a bit:
Stick with gas and waste more of your life and money fueling your vehicle and...
Lets see if my maths math:
R2 and Cayenne EV use PMSM's front and rear ans SiC inverters for primary drive. Thus drivetrain efficiencies should be equal.
Cayenne EV cDA = 7.65 ft^2 (0.25 cD X 30.6 ft^2 frontal area)
R2 cDA = 8.76 ft^2 (0.30 cD based on same shape as R1S X 29.2 ft^2 frontal...
