You won’t be able to use it here. The daytime running lights for their US vehicles won’t pass inspection and they won’t convert it for you. Don’t get stuck with a $100k paper weight.
I think you’re making a lot of assumptions about why BC went first. I totally understand that is it frustrating, but I would avoid speculation and inferences.
my friend got a call offering him a pre-built truck instead of waiting until his July delivery window. He said the offer was for 2018/19 preorder holders. It wasn’t an exact match to his build, just didn’t have the PPF.

This was late November. Most of the auto trader vehicles are uninsured/still on US insurance, they likely haven’t gone through the riv process.
If the inspector is half decent, they will fail the inspection.

My brother in law in Kitchener did this and had major issues. He followed the RIV process but it failed the inspection. Daytime running lights are only enabled on their Canadian model, which they can’t update at a US service center. He had to decide to ship it across Canada or sell it to another...
I ran into two owners last week (non employees) who have taken delivery. One had an el cap R1S and the other a white T. This is an exciting development!
