  1. Mexico, anyone?

Nope. Just driving a Sierra EV now, so not much to post about on a Rivian forum. Wife drives a Y, we live in San Carlos & drive back & forth to the states often in our respective EVs w/o issue. EVs are actually becoming pretty common where we live, and the charging infrastructure is coming along...
  2. Can Tesla NACS Adapter be used for any car with J772 plug?

Again, no. Again, no. But fear not, as ccs1 connectors stop being produced in new vehicles, One nozzle will indeed do both for all these NACS vehicles going forward. ?
  3. New R1T, But Family is Too Tall/Large... R1S Any Better?

Yes, I got the GMC. Interestingly, the EV has a bigger cabin than the ice. It is fantastic!
  4. New R1T, But Family is Too Tall/Large... R1S Any Better?

Seems odd you would recommend a smaller vehicle LOL.
  5. Can Tesla NACS Adapter be used for any car with J772 plug?

There is a NACS AC adapter, and a NACS DC adapter. Familiarize yourself with the difference, as it is quite important (& you should carry both). The NACS AC adapter allows a J1772 equipped vehicle to use most Tesla L2 EVSEs. The DC adapter, which I am guessing is what you are referring to...
  6. What the heck is going on with the stock price?!

Rivian sold a fair number of expensive EV trucks while they had a near corner on the market. Those buyers bought (& many are now selling), & there is not a deep reserve of those buyers to draw from. Now these higher end buyers have a lot more choices and some are arguably more appealing. Go...
  7. R1T wish list for truck purposes.

I don't have my R1 anymore, but I think it was rears? My Sierra EV locks one set when you put it in park, letting you then lock the second set via the manual parking brake. Just one of a few dozen things I am enjoying being back in a truck made by an experienced truck manufacturer. That said...
  8. R1T wish list for truck purposes.

-Ability to lock down all 4 wheels in park. One of the more glaring oversights when trying to do actual "truck stuff" with the R1; Loading and unloading an 8,000 lb load like an excavator, especially on loose surfaces (yeah, that happens a lot round here) is a whole lot riskier when you can't...
  9. New R1T, But Family is Too Tall/Large... R1S Any Better?

The R1 always felt smaller getting in & out than it looks. I feel your pain, it is one of the many reasons I went back to a full sized truck.

  12. Oregon Sold: 2023 R1T Green, $55,400

Vehicle is immaculate, priced to sell because my Denali is here. 28,095 miles, always garaged. Front windows tinted to match factory tint on the rears...
  13. Solar Panels and Battery Backup

... exactly. Because gas lines break during significant seismic activity. No gas, no backup power. Not a great backup plan for earthquake country. Done properly, a good battery+ solar is more likely to survive to continue providing power.
  14. Solar Panels and Battery Backup

Natural gas backup power in earthquake country... ?
  15. My Rivian is in the shop - I rented a Hummer EV for a month and hate it

I liked my Rivian more than my Hummer as well... but like the Sierra Denali EV more than the Rivian. I guess if it were a math equation, Hummer<Rivian<Denali.
  16. New Rivian Look / Update - SUCKS

Well. The UI _is_ quite childish. So there is that...
  17. Used R1T's

Many of the "newest thing" croud bought R1's. They are no longer the newest thing, so they get dumped as the next cool thing comes along. In my case, a newer and bigger thing came along; the Sierra Denali EV. I hate to think of myself as a "newest thing" person, I had intended to keep the R1...
  18. Fully Local Rivian (avoiding all cloud connectivity)?

If you are "one of those", Rivian is a poor choice for you. A 1992 XJ may be a better fit.
  19. Another Happy Team A2Z Member

The nightmare that is EA/others is slowly fading from my memory. Now let's get GM authorized on the SCs... Soon please. ?
