My R1T is going on a 2000 miles trip and need advise on charging

The fact that you posted the question means you're not entirely comfortable with the available CCS options. That being the case, seems obvious you would want to buy an inexpensive supercharger adapter and remove that question from your mind.

Tesla Driver calls Cop on Rivian Driver

I tow trailers a lot with both the Teslas and the Rivian. Most EV charging locations are not equipped for this configuration, which has contributed to the police being called on me three times now in the last 18 months. Admittedly, my limited social skills probably have not helped in some of...

    Burnt 240V outlet

Most mobile EVSEs on the market today are cheaply made "dumb" units that do not include heat and voltage sensing routines to protect the wiring, the EVSE and vehicle. It is for this reason I recommend using the Tesla mobile EVSE and the NEMA kit for mobile/plug-in use. It will sense the heat...

Tesla can now deploy pre-fabricated Superchargers in a game-changing 4 days

Coos bay, Roseburg & Shasta city are the last 3 I found with failing units. Many of them were blurry overnights where I'm not exactly sure where they were... A whole lot of miles in the last week.

Tesla can now deploy pre-fabricated Superchargers in a game-changing 4 days

Meanwhile, we are starting to see the RANs begin to fail. The length of California and across the southwest this week, I hit a half dozen RANs with displays either starting to, or completely failed. They are nice systems when new, but this doesn't bode well for longevity. 😒

    R1 DM behavior question

Normal. If the pothole upsets the suspension enough to cause wheel hop, even a slight one, it will engage the second motor so that full traction control on all four wheels is at your disposal. I have tested this behavior in extremely slippery situations, and it is incredibly quick to respond...

New Dual Motor Performance R1S loud siren type noise from motor

My DM is virtually silent. The only time I really hear the motors is when they are running lossy mode to heat the battery.

Tesla Home Charger Adaptor for R1S

Any major brand EVSE over the Rivian branded unit. The Rivian unit is expensive and cheaply made. Avoid it.

NACS Adapter reservation emails are now going out!!!!

Rivian's are faster when powered by Tesla. <grinning fiendishly as I wait for the hate...>🤪

Follow up - Preparing to purchase - home charger

Ignore "miles per hour" of charge. Obviously, since different vehicle's take different amounts of energy to go a mile, it is a useless statement and has no real relevance in the real world. Amps or watt hours is how you should be measuring charge rate.

    Hey, scanner/3D printer guys!

If you don't tape those lower hook points, a large bump can cause some slack when the suspension compresses and the hook could possibly fall out. I tape them up to make sure the hooks don't do that. Another solution would be to drive slower.... But I choose the tape. 🤪
