  1. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country A/T III EV 275/65/20 116H tires review

Glad you like them! They're a little to truck-like for my taste, but I otherwise agree - after 20,000 miles they have performed well in pretty much all conditions: heavy rain, snow, off-road, etc. It's going to be hard to find a good replacement for them (which is why I've been reading this...
  2. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country A/T III EV 275/65/20 116H tires review

I've got the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT. Can't speak to the Toyos. In my experience, lateral traction for this tire is on par, if not better than the OEM Pirellis, but it's the rotational inertia that creates the feeling of "lag" that I notice when changing directions. Efficiency is close the the...
  3. 20" Inch Toyo Open Country A/T III EV 275/65/20 116H tires review

While we're at it, one thing that often gets missed in these discussions of SL vs LT is the effect on the vehicle's driving dynamics. I went to a LT tire that weighs 61 lbs, and it has negatively affected the handling of my R1T. Launches are significantly slower, and the steering is sluggish and...
  4. Tail lights keep blinking

Blinking has stopped as of a couple hours ago. I'm assuming they pushed the stealth update.
  5. Tail lights keep blinking

I heard back from support. They said they're pushing an update to my R1T in the next 24-48 hours that will fix the issue. No idea if this is rolled into the latest global update or if this is a specific hotfix. My 12v batteries were just replaced last month, so I hope this lands before they get...
  6. Tail lights keep blinking

Having the same issue here with my Gen1 R1T. Hard reset did nothing. Submitted a ticket...
  7. Knocking during hard acceleration

No, not even a little bit. It's very obviously a metal-on-metal sound.
  8. Knocking during hard acceleration

Same issue. Gen1 R1T on 20" ATs. The sound only appears in high suspension setting when accelerating at >70% power. The SC said it's normal and didn't do anything about it.
  9. Tire chains recommendations?

I have the 275/65/R20 size, so 34." I have them because while snow socks are amazing in snow, they provide no additional traction on ice. The chains have worked very well in icy conditions, but like I said, you have to go slow to avoid damage.
  10. Tire chains recommendations?

I have a set of low-profile super Z8 chains that I run on the back tires. However, they will begin to make contact with the wheel liners above 20 mph, so they are only useful when you don't mind going slow. I also have socks for snow-only conditions or mountain pass use.
  11. Knocking during hard acceleration

This happens with my Gen1 R1T when accelerating at >70% power and in the high suspension setting. Sounds terrible. The service center said that it is normal and didn't do anything about it...
  12. 2022 quad - Motors Loud

I had my 2022 Gen 1 R1T in for service recently and got a late Gen 1 R1S quad as a loaner. No difference in motor noise, but the "tock" that I've gotten used to on my truck wasn't present, and the pedal tuning/motors were much smoother at lower speeds.
  13. Tire snow chains or cables for R1T

I've used the SCC Super Z8 cables on my truck at low speeds while off-roading without issue, despite having the largest wheel/tire combo (275/65/R20) and Rivian recommending against it for that size. I mounted them on the rear wheels and didn't exceed 20 MPH - which seems to be the speed limit...
  14. R1T Ignored Charge Limit

I've sent this in via the software bug reporting feature in the app. (This is under the "Share Feedback" link when you scroll to the bottom.) This is what service will tell you to do if you contact them about it. I'd recommend others do the same so it gets the attention of the software team :)
  15. R1T Ignored Charge Limit

I've had this problem constantly with my Gen1 R1T. I've tried setting the limit multiple times via the truck and via the app with no success. The limit doesn't seem to stick, no matter how/where I set it. Really hoping it gets fixed in the update.
  16. Snow / ice chains on a quad R1T?

Took my Gen1 R1T quad up an icy and snowy PNW forest service road today. The road transitioned from icy ruts to wet and half-frozen snow 18" deep. I have the super Z8 cables and got to the point where continuing with AT tires alone was getting sketchy. (I have Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires in...
  17. How to improve Gen 1 Rivian R1T Meridian Sound System after update 2024.39.01 with simple EQ changes

Thanks for all the work you've put into this - it's so helpful to have in-depth analysis. I'm no audiophile, but even I noticed a significant amount of muddiness over the past couple months listening to Tidal on my Gen1 Meridian setup. I just signed up for Apple Music to see if I could hear...
  18. Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT Review (on Rivian R1T)

Glad the tires have worked out for you! They're by no means bad tires - the added weight just tips the vehicle dynamics too far into "truck" territory for my taste. I will say that after comparing these back-to-back with the OEM Pirellis, I have more appreciation for the engineering and testing...
  19. Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT Review (on Rivian R1T)

Vehicle: 2022 Gen 1 R1T Quad Motor - Large Pack Tire: Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT 275/65/R20 (LT) I replaced my OEM Pirelli ATs with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs a couple of months ago. The Pirellis had 18,000 miles and had started to get pretty noisy. The fronts were down to 6/32 and I wanted...
  20. Keeping black plastic trim BLACK!?

+1 for this stuff. 1 application lasts about a year. You just have to be careful not to get it on the paint.
