  1. Twraps is awesome! PPF installed DIY photos

I didn't really have any significant bubbles. If there were, they are gone now. Just work from the center towards the edges and make sure the position is perfect before squeegeeing

Strip wash any old wax off and use something like mothers CMX to prep the surface and take your time. You can pull the plastic back up when it’s wet if you mess up. It helps to have a second set of hands with the larger pieces. If an edge won’t stick well, let it dry a few minutes and go back...
  3. Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

It was my understanding that the 12v batteries that keep failing, are what powers the dash, lights, accessories, etc and not the main pack. The main pack charges the 12v batteries from what I have gathered. Does the truck keep the 12v charged even in sleep mode?
  4. Radar Detector hardwire, who has done it?

If the the detector does not power off, can it potentially drain the 12v batteries or is that mirror tap powered from the pack? Confused about when and how the 12v batteries are bieng used or if the truck keeps them charged automatically when parked and locked?
  5. PPF question - spend $7k to put a clear PPF on $80k vehicle?

Yes, even on both sides. Probably to provide a little wiggle room for people doing this their first time at home.

Lol, I’ll direct, you do the work haha. It’s easy just use mothers CMX or similar wax/oil stripper first and check out the YouTube vids. Start with a straight easy piece and you’ll get the hang of it quick.

We messed up on the charge door piece early on and I ended up pulling it off. Contacted Twraps to buy a replacement and they are graciously sending me two free replacement charge door pieces. Great customer service so don’t be too worried about messing up. You can pull it back up while it’s wet...

  11. Delivered!

Congrats! I'm also expecting a Las Vegas delivery. Truck is supposed to be here by March 10th so hoping it was on the same train as yours. Gonna drive by the SC tomorrow and see if it's there. I have not received a call to schedule delivery yet. My guide is on vacation apparently so who knows...
  12. PPF question - spend $7k to put a clear PPF on $80k vehicle?

That’s what I planning. I’m comfortable with paint correction if needed too. Gonna start with a small straight piece on the door sills or tailgate to get the hang of it before doing the front.
  13. PPF question - spend $7k to put a clear PPF on $80k vehicle?

I just bought the pre-cut twraps kits on Amazon. Doesn't look that hard to do yourself. Spent about $300 for the entire front end, headlights, door sills, and top of tailgate. They have kits to cover the doors and hood as well. Might pick those up after I see how the install is. My truck should...
  14. Just spoke with my Guide, late February delivery for R1T

Ordered LA silver one month before the price increase and received shop access last week. I was happy to find my exact specs with off road 20s in LA silver. Confirmed the truck is a 2023 model too. Only thing missing was underbody protection which I was probably gonna cancel anyway. It was also...
