Yeah, you're definitely overthinking it. If your purchase decision on a used car is that dramatically impacted by what tires are on there, then maybe you need to consider a different vehicle.
If range was of that critical importance to you, but you still want a EV, then I would look into the...
I haven't had time to take any pics of my set up, but it is exactly like this:
(14) Installed S Track Tie Down Rails to Rivian R1T Bed | Rivian Forum - R1T R1S R2 R3 News, Specs, Models, RIVN Stock -- Rivianforums.com
I mean, it would have been nice if those points could be converted to something that you could use a ratchet strap on and really cinch down, like a road going motorcycle, but alas, it's only a M6 into a rivnut--I probably even wouldn't use it on a dirt bike...
You can use those to strap down some light items, like a bicycle or lawnmower, but I would NOT use those points to strap down a motorcycle or something heavy (I'm talking about the bolts holding in the bedliner)
Stumbled upon this thread--I just DIY'd some aluminum L-tracks down both sides of the bed, and can definitively say that those M6 mounting points (the ones under the plastic circular caps) are NOT MEANT TO BE LOAD BEARING--they are only meant to hold down the plastic bed liner.
The M6s bolt...
Original thread on the classifieds, not sure if I can cross post this in the NW section...
Washington - FS: EV Sportline ROCK SLIDERS from '23 R1T (1st Gen) in Seattle | Rivian Forum - R1T R1S R2 R3 News, Specs, Models, RIVN Stock -- Rivianforums.com
Help me clear these out from my patio! FS for $700 OBO Brand new these are $1699: EV Sportline Rock Sliders These are big and beefy, true rock sliders. You can jack the truck from the slider if needed.
These were installed on my old '23 R1T Quad/Max, which never did see any rock crawling...
I came from full sized trucks (F150 crew cab short bed Ecoboost-->Ram 1500 Limited-->'23 R1T Quad-->'25 R1T Dune Tri). I do dearly miss the back seat flat flooring, sliding rear window, and that extra ~6" longer bed on the short beds. I would happily trade the PTC (my '23 didn't come with it...
They gave me a bit of a hard time about it--Safelite was supposed to mention that it was on the cracked windshield, but they didn't. I had to go back to the tint place and have them fab me up a receipt for it (I hadn't kept a copy as it was 2 yrs ago, and the tint shop didn't have it)... then...
Damn, that's crazy. If you have a local State Farm rep that you have a relationship with, they can sometimes be helpful as an intermediary--that's what I did when I had a problem trying to get reimbursement for the tint on the front windshield reimbursed (which I ultimately didn't go through...
I would say if it was just the windshield, Safelite (at least my experience locally) was ok, and they were able to get me in quick (like within a week). Rivian SC would've been who knows how long (they were 2-3 mos out on just the recalibration).
If I had to have the roof panel done, I don't...
Safelite (in Bellevue) doing the post-replacement calibration is relatively new--would've saved me from making a separate Rivian SC appointment that was 2 mos booked out for calibration--if I hadn't traded in my vehicle shortly after!
That's actually an awesome deal. You put 63k miles, you certainly got your money's worth! For me, I always wanted a sand colored truck (I was seriously eyeing the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison), so I figured why not...
Congrats! I am in process of doing something similar--trading in my '23 R1T quad/max --> '25 R1T Dune.
I also have a '23 R1S, and went and test drove the '25 R1S Tri motor just to get a comparison--I was impressed by the interval improvement in ride quality. Acceleration was pretty similar...
