Do your research. The available extended warranty is very unlikely to pay out more than you have to pay to buy it at this point....unless you just want one for peace of mind. Strictly financially you're better off sticking $5K (or whatever you want) into an HYSA as an emergency repair fund.

As a general rule, extended warranties are not worthwhile in terms of cost/benefit ("generally", but of course there are outliers), unless the benefit you want is just peace of mind.....

Updates are released in batches for a good reason(s). Not everyone (or even every connect + subscriber) can be first. The reset and your update are most likely coincidental and your impatience made it impossible for you to know whether there was any connectivity issue
