It gets even more fun for those of us R2 buyers that included the spare. They pulled a perfectly good spare out prior to delivery because of a missing sticker. Now that I'm home (3 hours away from service center), they have to send the whole spare out to me via mobile service. Still not...
Just a guess, but I'm thinking it's related to the steering wheel position sensor. Doesn't know precisely where center is and is 'hunting', causing the shake. Could also be related to the nagging about keeping hands on the wheel on every straight section of road when not using UHF. Needs...
This is with UHF off. Seems like it could be related to the UHF steering wheel shaking at highway speeds. Computer doesnāt know what steering wheel is doing/searching for center
in both scenarios.
Also get the obnoxious ātake control of wheelā nag non-stop above 60mph whenever hands are not on top half of steering wheel. hands placed anywhere else and the nag comes on almost immediately. No idea if this is related to UHF steering wheel shake and the steering wheel sensor.
Have steering wheel shake between 60-65mph when on UHF. Does not translate into wheels though and is not there when not on UHF. So far itās been super stable at all speeds.
Itās fine. Nothing special. Slightly better than it is in Gen2 R1S. Probably just weight of vehicle differences being felt.
Not worth any amount of paid subscription at this point. Hoping for great things out of it, but keeping my expectations low, so I donāt end up with Gen1 disappointments again.
Had early model Y prior to Rivians. It just worked, every time.
Gen2/R2 are close, but it still seems to get confused sometimes if my wife and I are both approaching the vehicle. Also will get confused between my phone and watch.
Probably just notice it glitching out more than tesla between...
Seems to be working exactly the same as our Gen2. I'd bet it's the same hardware. Way better than Gen1, but still nowhere near as good as it could be (Tesla).
More than annoying when service center is 3+ hours away.
They should not even be offering it as a packaged option if they can't provide it at delivery. Big miss on their part and really takes away from the whole experience. I had it worked out the day before that it would be delivered with the...
Minor issues at delivery on ours. Overall build is solid. First time sitting in the car and booting up, it threw errors on non functioning headlights and turn signals. Fixed with hard reset, but felt pretty silly having that be the first thing I do in the new car!
In addition, had a big fiasco...
I would approach this with caution. We just took delivery yesterday and everything build-wise on the vehicle was just about perfect. Employees were busy but friendly.
Had multiple phone calls the day prior to delivery about a problem with the spare tire missing some kind of regulatory sticker...
Having done multiple cars in PPF, I find it's really not worth the investment. You are protecting the car for the next owner, not yourself. Have been doing only ceramic coatings on the last two cars and it makes life much easier. No worrying about edges lifting, bug guts getting stuck in the PPF...
Just use the car. So easy to get wrapped up in all the online content obsessing about quality, panel gaps, materials etc. Reality is itās just a car at the end of the day. A depreciating asset.
If you use it/abuse it to the point the plastic is beat up itās all replaceable. Most likely by that...
And if they donāt, then itās going to be a massive failure and turn off another massive group of potential buyers from EVās. Hereās to hoping they figure out what Rivian didnāt when it comes to LFP.
Our delivery was scheduled for this week. Confirmed with customer support that everything was on schedule on Monday. Woke up Tuesday to see that it got pushed back two weeks for unspecified reason and no notice or explanation. Just showed up in the app.
Finally got a message from service center...
