  1. Roof Box for Skiis ⛷️ - recommendations?

Last week I went on a small ski trip (1hr each way) with a yakima skybox 16 that I had from my days when we had our Subaru outback before the r1s. We fit 6 pairs of skis, two of which were 182cm long, plus kids skis and all poles, plenty of weather protected space. I put it on rivian crossbars...
  2. VION Giveaway: R1S & R1T Roof Sunshades and Air Filters

Yes please, thank you! (R1S sunshade)
  3. Clunking sound from front end.

Thanks, yeah I prefer firm too, but alas each time my service center (Gaithersburg MD) says things like "were your previous cars luxury vehicles? this is a highly capable adventure vehicle that won't have completely silent ride", or "this is normal", or "drive in soft for less clunk if clunks in...
  4. Clunking sound from front end.

Thanks for updates, mine just came out of service a few weeks ago, and like previous 3 service appointments, they said these clunks are normal - gotta say all loaners I've had were clunking too. Question for you both with recent updates: in all R1 vehicles I've driven, including mine, I've...
  5. A Beautiful Disaster — Rivian Is Not Ready for Prime Time

I agree with everything you said about the vehicle touch points being half baked and making me dislike it more and more over time, but unfortunately like OP my service isn't a shining star either. All other brands I've had, and most recently before this it was a Subaru and Toyota, had more...
  6. Dashboard Rattle - Solved using rubber seal strip

Adding that I've had this issue since ownership (late '23) and after 3 separate and unsuccessful attempts by Gaithersburg service center, I fixed it myself in a similar manner - wedged small pieces of black plastic between the dash grille and the dash soft "leather" area; about 3 of them. This...
  7. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

I have a Gen1, but not leased, and have megawatt rock sliders on it; it's gone through several separate appointments at the SC including many suspension related work for which they needed to lift it on multiple occasions (jounce lines, dampers replaced, hub knuckle bolt tightening, etc). They...
  8. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Solution is Coming Soon... (seriously) -- by EV Play

How about access to the rear display? I'm sure lower priority, but could the use of video apps on rear screen while driving be possible? I think tesla has such rear screen entertainment for rear passengers. That's one thing that I wished Rivian would've included in their ultra long testing of...
  9. Suspension rattling - help diagnosing root cause

That's what I hear also, clatter on all 4 wheels, but I hear it more from rear wheels than front ones. My wife doesn't notice unless I point it out and even then doesn't seem to bother her, but she's much less prone to notice any car noises. So I agree the range of acceptability varies between...
  10. Clunking sound from front end.

Sorry to hear that, but confirms my experience that the hub/knuckle tightening and damper swaps did not resolve the issue. It got better for me after the dampers, but I'm unfortunately back to being uncomfortable with the the clunks / clanks / jiggles coming from underneath the car at low...
  11. Clunking sound from front end.

I’d say mine are 75% resolved also, but they didn't change jounce lines for me even though I asked about it. Attached are my work orders, it does say jounce assembly. My improvement was after damper replacement work. Would you say the remaining ~25% is due to half shaft play? Or something else?
  12. Clunking sound from front end.

Hey everyone, As mentioned before, mine had the "tightening of hub to knuckle bolts" service done about a month ago, I think right around when that service bulletin came out. That made exactly zero improvement in the clunks for me. Interesting to hear it helped with noise for some of you...
  13. Clunking sound from front end.

It was 39 here the other morning, and I'd say my R1T loaner sounds only very slightly better on soft, still generally way too clunky, and when switching to firm it was still very harsh hard metal clunks on front and back when going over speed bumps. Late this afternoon service said my R1S with...
  14. Clunking sound from front end.

Hey everyone - Appreciate all the feedback in this thread, glad we're exchanging views. Just an update that my R1S is still in their lot for dampers replacement, sitting in the same parking spot where we parked it after not taking it from the last service (as a reminder, it already had hydraulic...
  15. Clunking sound from front end.

Thanks for the feedback. How come the dual motor versions don't have this issue? I'm at 6K on odometer, it only started around 5K. After hearing your story, I now have especially low hope of a resolution once the dampers work is done, but my hope wasn't high to begin with because they clearly...
  16. Clunking sound from front end.

My R1S with 22s has had the same clunking noises others reported (coffee can, etc, though to me more like driving over metal buckets) that are especially noticeable over speed bumps in Standard/Firm, but also on little road ruffles. It's been in service multiple times in recent months since it...
