  1. Switched from R1T (Gen 1 Quad) to a Ford Bronco

The R2 isn't nice enough for us to replace our R1T and S. But the tactile buttons and switches are some of the reasons we'll be switching to the scouts. Hell, if there were a manual diesel land cruiser here in the states I never would have bought a Rivian in the first place and probably would...
  2. Front suspension fail

Nice. White oak? Interesting spalting. Will make excellent firewood. Just moved a half pallet of sod the other day. Pretty sure my truck hates me. The half shafts are definitely pissed.
  3. Front suspension fail

I cut my own firewood. Highly likely a giant oak or pine would be on top of it right now.
  4. “100k milestone” Yes and we are not looking back!!

My half shafts make noise. I put in for warranty service on them last year and had scheduling issues, they said no problem. When rescheduled after the warranty ran they stiffed me even though it's documented before. That is my main beef with the company right now, and I'm a petty mf'er...
  5. R2 (Esker Silver) Road Trip Report

    Matches your driveway.
  6. Rivian vs Scout (⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS)

I'd wager most don't tow with them because it's not great for towing...yet. They're great for towing except for the affect on range.
  7. Rivian vs Scout (⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS)

My eyes have been wandering to the Hummer. It's just too ridiculous. I would be embarrassed driving one.
  8. Rivian vs Scout (⚠️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS)

I have deposits on both scouts. Cancelled my R2 deposit. It's more of what I would have wanted Rivian to be from the start. And add much as I like our R1T and R1S, I've never come around on the stupid Rivian headlights. I hate them.
  9. Garage appreciation thread - show yours

Workshop inside and exterior shot from the main house. Messy ass house garage that I need to clean up once I'm finished throwing away a lot of stuff. RV boat and tractor usually stay in the workshop, but I have a basketball goal mounted in there so they stay outside in the summer when my kids...
  10. No real AM or FM radio in the R2

Your loss. It would allow you to stream whatever you want without worrying about cellular connectivity.
  11. No real AM or FM radio in the R2

    Just get a starlink.
  12. Sad, but I think I’m out

💯 On the road tripping. I already have a full size diesel if needed, but the scout looks like it'll fit the bill. Rivian is just a wee bit too long to charge on road trips.
  13. Sad, but I think I’m out

Got two EVs, two gassers, and a diesel already. Cancelled the R2 res and put down deposits on both scout models the other day. I think that's the next logical step for how we like to drive. Plus our last few service center trips have been abysmal and soured us on staying married to Rivian.
  14. R2 First Drive Reviews - Articles & Videos 📰 🎬

Ridiculous. I don't even bother clicking. If I have that time I'm watching a feature length film.
  15. RJ says R3X is ~2 years away. Confirms R4

Pretty clear that normal will handle R1 and maximize R2 production and pursue sales here and in Europe in the meantime while Georgia construction proceeds. It'll be interesting to see how timely it gets built as Scout may come to market in the meantime.
  16. Rivian Care now extended to 6 states as of 6/2 -- CO/GA/IL/NY/OR/TX

Better off driving it into a tree on my property and blaming it on the dog. Let insurance replace the thing.
  17. 500-800 miles from Service Center......from those with Rivian experience....how risky will this be?

The worst part is that the last couple of times I've taken ours in to the service centers for work, they effed it up and either wasted my time and the trip or didn't fully do the job correctly which will necessitate bringing it back in. Our earlier experiences in owning a Rivian were better...
  18. June 9 - R2 order invites, first customer deliveries and demo drives begin!

We have two R1s and an R2 reservation that we just cancelled. Recent bad service center experiences with both of our vehicles negatively affected our willingness to buy in further. We're leaning toward Scout as eventual replacement vehicles.
