Just chiming in to agree with OP.
We were all in Rivian…. Until we needed our first service. After seeing how that was handled I dumped the R1S as fast as I possibly could.
Strong no thank you to owning a 100k rig with proprietary parts and technology that even the Rivian SC (which is over 3...
***** under perfect and ideal conditions.
The last trip I took with my quad motor R1S large pack was 233 miles, ambient temp 42 degrees, conserve mode. I left the house at 99% SOC and had to stop 70 miles from my destination as I only had 16% charge remaining and the Rivian wasn’t projecting...
I personally think if you’re regularly expecting to get 200 miles on this vehicle AND do your charging at home, you’ll be greatly disappointed.
It is well recognized that regularly deeply discharging your battery and then charging to 100% will more rapidly degrade your battery. Additionally...
My honest recommendation would be ask for a buy back. Your issues sound worse than mine—I was modifying my schedule around service calls and visits and it was honestly miserable.
Happiest day of owning the Rivian R1S was the day it was purchased back.
I think you’ll be happy you cancelled it. My R1S was 6 months of headaches before I sold it. Rivians communication is abysmal, which is much of the reason I dropped mine. I can’t even imagine having a catastrophic vehicle problem and trying to get communication.
Its definitely a veneer. A wood that isn’t often used as a veneer in vehicles (ash). My R1S had large gaps forming in the upper portions on both sides, which I attributed to poor veneer quality, cheap adhesive, and direct sun exposure with no protectant applied.
These mats worked exceptionally well, but I have parted ways with the R1S and therefore no longer have a need for them.
I am asking 180$, willing to ship but additional cost will be added to cover actual cost of shipping.
Mats are dusty from storage, but it excellent condition.
Ex R1S owner here, sold at 4k miles.
Wonderful car when it worked, but the biggest headache in my life when it didn’t.
Turning the key fob over when I sold it was the happiest feeling I’ve had in that car.
Fellow (ex)-R1S owner. At about 87 mph this car gets very “squishy” and terribly responsive to quick inputs, especially after the most recent suspension update.
@Plummer43 yep. Had a number of issues with the Rivian, and with the work I do I simply can’t take the amount of time required to take the vehicle to KC repeatedly.
All these software engineers proved was that the system could be manipulated to perform in an error prone state, IE, fail safes could be defeated…. Yet, I don’t believe anyone was able to definitively prove these were actual causes to the accidents, and was more likely to be user error.
Ever since the last update (you know the one that softened the suspension and made it feel like you’re driving a porpoise), my R1S GPS would frequently display me 50-100 feet from my actual location.
This resulted in all the “off at home” features not actually turning off at home.
My...

Revisionist History actually did a lovely podcast on the Toyota “unintended acceleration“ issues that plagued the company… I won’t spoil the narrative for anyone that wants to listen, but Toyota essentially took the hit for a...
Anyone interested in Linerx mats and cargo liner for an R1S? I’m parting ways with my R1S and would love to get someone some great liners for a great price!
