  1. Wet spot under driver mat

The thing is, I *really* don't want an extended warranty. I want to be able as an owner, to be empowered to fix my own stuff. I really don't like Rivian telling me how I can, and can't use/modify/fix the vehicle I own.
  2. Wet spot under driver mat

Same. I had the A/C wet spot addressed at 55k miles. I'm well out of warranty now at 70k miles and *really* concerned about the Rivian shop rates (they're higher than even BMW rates) Without any right to repair, service manuals for owners, or 3rd party shops my Rivian R1T feels like a...
  3. 50W Mobile GMRS Hidden Install - Midland MXT575 (full DIY build)

Since those Cargo Crossbar adapters are now unobtainable, i've designed a 3d printable version here: * https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/rivian-accessory-port-mount * https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/rivian-nmo-nmm-radio-mount
  4. 50W Mobile GMRS Hidden Install - Midland MXT575 (full DIY build)

Oh hell yes. Awesome write up! I've been trying to figure out a clean way to add an antenna without drilling into the body.. with the all Au body, even magnet mounts have been a no-go. I'm no ham, but like to fiddle with the 900Mhz LoRA stuff. A NMO mount seems like just the ticket on my R1T.
  5. Rivian partners with ALLDATA to expand repair service

Very likely, but I do feel like their intents are more profit-motivated at this point. They want to collect that sweet, sweet service revenue. (which I have no issues with.. what I do have issues with is locking consumers out completely from servicing their own vehicles) Someone on reddit has...
  6. Rivian partners with ALLDATA to expand repair service

Whelp. No Rivian information on AlldataDIY. https://www.alldata.com/us/en/support/repair-collision/article/vehicle-data-publishing "Special Update - Rivian Information is now available!" The Rivian service information is only seemingly available to the professional subscribers and not the...
  7. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

After much, much, much complaining on my part (and 18 videos of it happening, and 3 service visits) they finally fixed it. They replaced the central gateway module (CGM). I had enough documentation of it happening under warranty to convince them to replace it under warranty. ($1200 out of...
  8. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

With all the issues finally (finally) solved with my launch edition, im 66k miles in and plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off. Might even buy a new battery pack when this one finally degrades too much.. who knows
  9. 2022 R1T Vin vs Price / Reliability

66k miles in on my early 2022 R1T. Here's my "run down" of issues. My minor issues seen on early VIN R1T (all warranty / recall covered) Driver door gasket fell off. Warranty fix Door lights in back seat came unplugged. Warranty fix. Bad dash rattle, NVH. Warranty fix Early dual battery...
  10. Rivian partners with ALLDATA to expand repair service

FINALLY. 🎉🎉🎉 Alldata was a good choice. They charge a reasonable amount to diyers. I paid for service manuals for my Bolt EV, and the quality was really good.
  11. Conversation with my neighbor... Are Rivian's really for rich people?

Exactly. For what you get, the value realization of a Rivian absolutely beats the crap out of any similarly priced vehicles. The used 2022 R1 vehicles going for $40k are an absolute steal. I just wish Rivian would fix their DIY repair issues. Service pricing still *way* too premium for basic...
  12. Conversation with my neighbor... Are Rivian's really for rich people?

Rivian owners are "just as rich" as someone who buys a 95k Ford F-250 with leather seats to haul their kids to school. However, the people spending 95k+ on Ford vehicles are idiots :CWL: . Rivian is a lot more premium of a vehicle than any legacy auto maker can build.
  13. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

2022 Launch Edition R1T. 68k miles. Having major DCFC communication issues service hasn't been able to fix after multiple visits. Assuming they finally fix the issues, I plan on keeping mine until the wheels fall off. If they can't fix it.... Not sure. Not being able to road trip when you...
  14. Recall: Rear Toe‑Link Bolts Replacement (affects 19,641 R1 vehicles)

I have a scheduled appointment for Feb. I'm definitely part of this population (suspension repairs, replaced front drive unit) They added FSAM-1794 automatically to my appointment without intervention. I'm planning on sticking my face under there tomorrow to see if there's any backout of that...
  15. Recurring R1T 12V Failure — Rivian Refusing LV Battery Replacement Procedure (3 Attempts, No Escalation)

I lucked out and briefly got the ear of a Senior engineering VP at Rivian this morning (I will not mention names.. they went above and beyond even responding to me). Trying to squeaky wheel them (and I feel like these concerns get lost at the service centers) Quickly dropped these issues (diy...
  16. Product Request: Capacitor retrofit

Vehicle can still be operated. Annoying 12v warning in Rivian mobile app, on dash, and I can no longer upgrade. Keep in mind, this only impacts early dual-battery R1 vehicles. Single battery vehicles can use the built-in RiDE system to clear the warning.
  17. Product Request: Capacitor retrofit

The process already exists today. There's a button in RiDE to clear 12v errors.. it just doesn't work for dual battery vehicles.
  18. Product Request: Capacitor retrofit

I get that.. and it makes sense to me. However, as an owner i'm also faced with not being able to replace my 12v batteries myself because of the dual-battery config and software limitations. It's.. frustrating. I'm 100% sure my service center is getting tired of talking to me. (and i'm also...
  19. Anti-EV agenda

This is the obvious sane path... but that would never fly unfortunately. The public at large (especially... less bright people), are too focused on cHeAP gAS. Raising gas prices by reducing subsidies would be seen as tax increases (even though it's a net decrease) We would need a nearly 50% EV...
