Have you considered that maybe you are driving too close to the vehicle in front? I have quarter of a million miles in Rivians in all conditions and not a single crack.
The biggest takeaway here is that Blink is a steaming pile of hot garbage. I have never once been able to initiate a charge from one of their chargers despite many attempts.
I'd take the R1S over the Lambo any day. Those things are just for driving slowly around city streets revving the engine with your windows down whilst wearing an unbuttoned shirt and big gold chain.
All Rivians have forward collision warning and Automatic Emergency Braking enabled by default. (Unless the driver manually disables it, but then you would have a warning telltale on the dashboard).
To the other commenter, there are no such things as 'external airbags'. There are pyro hood...
I worked at BMW some years ago, hydrogen was abandoned due to the insurmountable complexities of producing, storing, distributing and refueling hydrogen stations and cars. The fuel is highly explosive and corrosive, and requires extremely high pressures and frequent, specialized maintenance. It...
Sad that you had a poor experience. I regularly do long multi-day trips in a R1T and plan ahead. I don't always stick to the plan, or spend a long time making it, but if I shortlist a number of highspeed chargers the trip goes well for me, taking only slightly longer than a gas car would.
The front end does most of the braking, its no surprise the rears were OK at 50k, but they should be changed at 30% life remaining, not 0% life remaining.
Offroad, the Rivian annihilates the Tacoma in stock form, been there and done it myself. Infinitely adjustable independent wheel drive and...
In California, 6 years. Then add in the oil changes, brake jobs etc, probably more like 5 years. But which Tacoma has the performance of the R1T? How about you go and price that one up then redo the math.
Because they like cars? i have been building up my car fleet over 20 years and it is currently valued at around 4 times my annual salary. I don't have any loans so the value is irrelevant. I just have to pay maintenance and insurance, which is less than if I had just 1 car with a loan.
I've owned both. I had the X P100D with L+. It felt pretty poorly screwed together compared to the R1S, and the range was nowhere near what they claimed. If I hyper-miled it, drove at 55mph on the highway, took 30 seconds to accelerate up to 50 from the lights, no HVAC or radio on, full use of...
I'm at 7,000 miles on my R1T and the tires look brand new, over 90% tread remaining. Running 22" Sport Bright, most of my miles are commuting stop/start 0 - 50mph.
