The I have aGFC topper and enjoyed for the summer.. unfortunately moving out of country and will need to sell … likely losing a fair bit from purchase price ;(

I have the same setup (bar battery hookups) and I noticed very substantial condensation in the frunk… it is in the bonnet and somewhere in the tank… the hose caps are screw on tights, but in the PNW “spring” the condensation is really substantial (to the point of me considering not using this...
PSA. Just sharing a quick experience:
On the original pirelli 20in tires I was off-roading a rather technical terrain at 25PSi.. all went well till I did a celebratory drift the hard section was over.. popped a bead on front passenger tire.. not trail fixable as it was stuck behind the...
I think he means to put the winch on the ground and tie the craddle it is in to a tree, then pull the truck from a anchor. I don't love this as there will be lots of wiggle/funny tensions as the winch is not stabilized by the truck mount. (If I understand correctly).
I loved my LR4 but had the reliability of a toddler on a sugar high.
First serious off-road (hollister’s truck hill) and after a couple of hard attempts I made it up but the water pump gave up saluting my success with a white cloud of steam… some other issues on other trips. They are good...
The short of it is: do not go for AluCab on the Rivian R1T.
my setup:
1) Leitner ACS (modified from the F150 short bed version, cut to size and adapted to work with the Rivian mounts)
1.1) set of light tubes wired into the gear tunnel and framing the rack
2) AluCab RTT 3.1
3) OVS 270degree...
it is very good. For a vehicle with canopy options I would opt for that (but none available for Rivian yet and I had this available). A Sturdy canopy will give you similar load space but the stuff stays dry :)
Yes the build quality is very very good, unfortunately my Pod XL is like an inch too long (I could have tried to go over the tailgate but didn’t felt right).
The vertical poles and top curve is a single piece bolted underneath the bed-touching horizontals, not sure I follow your suggestion.
I...
I envy your power tonneau.. your rack looks great as well. For me was mostly a reuse of what I had, it served me super well heavily loaded off-roading with it.
I had a 6.5 feet classic Leitner bed rack, and I spent a few hours this weekend to adapt it to the R1T.
I had to cut the bed mounts in the center, and shave starts and ends to fit the inner shape of the bed. I used the original mount points by cutting a slot in the aluminum if the bed mount and...
I would love a nice solid metal clean lines bumper with a winch mount space. What I was told by other folks is that the 12v setup of the Rivian is also not likely strong enough for a winch (~400amps or so)
I have seen some pics of a test Rivian I guess with a winch built into the bumper itself. I don’t know what is the underlying mount point, but it is fully integrated.
here something about it:

I am not sure how they will perform in the Rivian, but when I tried the Hakkas in my model 3 awd I returned them after 3mikes. Way too much torque the car felt like on drift tires, way more dangerous than the stock ones in normal conditions. The pirelli performance winter tires Tesla suggested...
I like the idea but I was not sure how easy is to anchor in our bed, and whether I would want it there permanently as it could be in the way of bed usage for cargo. Also I ah e not finalized my over landing loading (I have 7 pelican cases and a ARB Element fridge). For now I will strap things...
I saw that, but the Apex has been thoroughly tested (Matt’s off-road recovery YouTube channel for e.g.) and seems sturdy and cheap. Comes in at 14 extra lbs but on a 7k lbs truck I felt was irrelevant.
I hope they build a winch bumper for us too, that would be super.
Two shortcomings from playing around with it today:
1) it covers a large portion of the rear camera (annoying as it would be nice to look at it while winching yourself back).
2) can’t lower the tailgate with that on (maybe some of those tiltable hitch extenders though I haven’t seen one sturdy...
