  1. 30% of the time, my 2024 R1S forgets to restore my seat position when I get in.

Yep - if the software team isn't aware of this bug, then they are a bunch of incompetents. More likely is that they are aware, but have bigger problems to work on. BTW - just got a 40 day trial of Tesla's FSD14.2.1 last night. It was totally awesome. Drove safely and with confidence. Rivian has...
  2. Rivian May Be Much Closer to FSD Than You Think

It's also delusional to deny that FSD hasn't saved lives yet.
  3. Rivian May Be Much Closer to FSD Than You Think

Then it's official, Lidar is dead. It's like Jim Cramer recommending a stock as a buy.
  4. 30% of the time, my 2024 R1S forgets to restore my seat position when I get in.

Yep. You got it. There are about a dozen other things that are flaky. They don't pay me to debug their vehicle. In the first week, at 2 am it told me that there was a fatal issue and the car wouldn't drive. I got out, closed the door, reopened the door and the error message went away and I...
  5. 30% of the time, my 2024 R1S forgets to restore my seat position when I get in.

Too much effort for me and the Rivian people - they don't debug software, and I'm 99% sure it is software.
  6. 30% of the time, my 2024 R1S forgets to restore my seat position when I get in.

Similar to waking up the car and being able to remove the charging cable. Pain in the Axx.
  7. 30% of the time, my 2024 R1S forgets to restore my seat position when I get in.

I have to select an alternate profile, then select my profile and then my seat settings are restored when I get in the car. Is it asking too much for this feature to work 100% of the time or at least 99%? If they have trouble with this minor feature, it gives me little confidence that they can...
  8. Rivian May Be Much Closer to FSD Than You Think

Rivian can't even lane keep on city streets, no way they get this going on their own. They have to be at least 3 yrs away from buying it from someone else.
  9. Do you plan routes based on chargers, views or other factors?

1st priority: Which chargers must I use, and plan for plan B if there are broken chargers. 2nd priority: shortest distance 3rd priority: deviations from shortest distance if there is something worthwhile to see.
  10. Ionna Chargers not yet showing up on the Nav maps - any idea when they might show up?

It's been really good in Wilcox Arizona too. Rivian software might need a total rewrite if they have such trouble adding features.
  11. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

I must say, Since the weather has calmed down a bit (< 105 F), the car is doing much better not consuming energy while "idle". Over a 10 day period, it only lost about 6 or 7 kWh sitting in the garage. I'm not driving too much lately as I had a hip replacement at the end of August. PSA: if you...
  12. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

It held steady at 67% through the night. I'll have to see what it does today, another hot one coming.
  13. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

I've got proximity lock off and no guarding active. AC is off. Last night was a bit better. It must have been the heat that day. I'll live with 10% overhead.
  14. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

Wow - 3:30 pm and I'm down from 70% to 67% already from 6 am.
  15. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

Thanks for the data points. I agree - vampire drain and charging losses are two separate but annoying "features". This is what it took this morning to get back to 70% charge level that it reached the day before. I'm guessing about 3 kWh needed to replace what the vampire took. Tom
  16. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

The Teslas seem to do a bit better. My Rivian R1S loses a lot more charge sitting idle than the Model Y.
  17. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

It was losing a lot of range sitting in the garage doing nothing. I had a hip replacement 3 wks ago and hadn't driven it since maybe 4 weeks ago. I think about 4 kWh per day. These were days when we had several days in the 115 range. The model Y didn't seem to mind the heat as much.
  18. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

You are getting 1 kWh for your session. I'm getting 2.5 kWh for a 3 hours session. Are you sure that number doesn't scale? The more current I use, the more heat I generate. I'm not so sure 48 A would be good for the car with a 100 ambient environment. If in fact it doesn't scale, then sure, but...
  19. Charging at home in Phoenix - I'm seeing a lot of auxiliary power used during charging

Good to know about the info on the icons. When I say 30 A, I mean that is what I set the current draw in the schedule portion. My circuit breaker is 50 A.
