I understand what you are saying, There are just some occasions (and it's inconsistent) that the AC just blows and it never really gets cold. It's consistently 90 degrees during the day at this time of year and I drive at a similar timeframe and there is an occasional inconsistent performance...
I was going to do just this, had the mobile appointment scheduled out for a few weeks and then Rivian called to say they could not calibrate via mobile appointments. The inconsistency in Service Centers is frustrating.
I think there are plenty of threads that document the potential issue, but I do think its a fairly significant issue. I know there are a lot of us that have had 12v failures with no warnings. Just a brick in the garage or driveway. Mine was even plugged in to my L2 charger when it did.

I simply turned off and back on the display location and it fixed it for me. Ironically a second garage I have programed in for my mothers home never stopped working, just my home location.
This same situation occurred to me, but on I-64 in Virginia. I passed under an overpass on a clear day and the truck tried to turn right, not left. It was large enough that the tires lost traction, but I had my hand on the wheel and was able to recover.
That is interesting, I use the Lectron. I have only used a Tesla L2 charger on occasion with the adapter, but frying the Rivian sounds like a bad option. Did Rivian point you to an adapter to use, or did they recommend just avoiding the Tesla L2 adapters altogether.
