I just got a call from Rivian. Apparently this is known and expected behavior as the software (as written today) cannot tell the difference between a bike rack and a trailer.
Since the update, I have seen no difference with the Accessory Profile in the trailers. With the 2025.22.1 Update, I can now plug in my rack lights.
However, I do see my rack defaulting to Trailer 3 profile not Accessory profile since the 2025.22.1 update.
Again, to your original post, I have...
I was exstatic to see my accessory rear tail light would no longer trigger disabling much of Driver+ and other features.
However, after each drive, it seems to revert back to "Trailer 3". I reset it to "Accessory" and it will work as designed until I park it again.
Has anyone else seen this...
I drove my R1S in some pretty good storms in N Washington. 15 inches overnight and 30 mph winds.
I have Blizzak LT's on in the winter. With them on, I felt my R1S is a top notch snow driving machine. I grew up in WI\MN and work for a company that requires me to be in AK quite a bit year round...
This is a Magic Dock station in Quincy, WA.. There are 3 Magic Dock stations in Washington, and 1 in Oregon right now. I opted to rely on this one even though it added 15 mins to our trip. I trust the Tesla network over many of the commercial ones. However, we had no issues with any on our trip.
My recent road trip in Northern WA with temps to -13(f) saw about a 20% loss in optimal range. However, it was windy as hell from the side and head on and that also impacted things. Preconditioning helped a lot.
I was very happy that the efficiency was that good in those very harsh conditions.
We just got back from Northern WA state and it got down to -13(f). We had a L2 charger at the AirBnB and I left it plugged in when not driving. Looking at the Electrify App, our R1S was drawing power almost every hour, assumedly to keep the battery etc up to certain temps. I was glad we adopted...
+1 on the Kuat Pivot. I was close with my 800's on my one biggest Enduro bike (see my profile pic) using a 1UP rack. I did get an extended in case some future bike gets close.
The ability to pivot the bikes to open the back is worth every penny you will pay for it, especially on any sort of...

As a 63 year old outdoorsy person who has owned luxury cars, I agree with others that this is not the car for you, based on what you called out. It's not the car for many. Thank goodness, the test drive saved you from a lot of future frustration as a potential owner.
For me, this is the car I...
This is all great news! I am unclear if the towing profiles will include the ability to plug in an accessory to a bike rack without losing all the good driving features.
Indeed! Works great. Our larger 1UP has a LightBar which plugs in. Once you do that, the R1S thinks I am towing a boat or trailer so it disables a lot of features. I am confident this will be addressed in a future release.
I also have and extension. These are rated for various amps at various lengths.

It has a pretty waterproof connection that we just put under the garage door, but you can also cut a hole in your wall and mount this allowing you to plug your inside...
I have my R1S set up for proximity garage doors at 2 locations 63 miles apart from one another. Works flawlessly for me.
I simply went to Garage A and enabled it, then next time at Garage B, I did the same.
Mine is a 93xx VIN R1S and outside of a cosmetic issue on the interior door at delivery (fixed in 45 mins via mobile service), it's been a gem. I have the usual quirks that others report on the software, but that's to be expected across the board.
