Sorry - I've not seen that and we have ours set to kneel when going into park as well. It's not because someone (like my father-in-law does) opened the door the instant you stopped moving?
I do two things any time I get alerts or warnings from our '23 R1S:
I take a picture of the message and or warning icons - This primarily gives me a pretty precise date/time stamp of when it happened
I hold down the Hazard button until I get the "Vehicle Diagnostics Captured" message
I've had...
Oh - there's definitely extra heat around the frunk. I watched my frunk temp hit 115 while at a long charge at a L3 charger when the ambient temp was in the low 50's. I'm just saying that it's not an issue for most grocery/Costco runs because they're likely to be local. Grab one of the data...
I had to laugh as well...Sure, except that all of the bridges around here have turns leading into the one-lane bridge - I believe it's specifically to prevent speeding. Here's an example:
You need to think of the frunk as being like the old school trunk on a sedan. I'm in PA and use our frunk for groceries (including ice cream) year-round, but I'm only 7-10 minutes from the store.
I keep a Blue Maestro Bluetooth Temperature Logger in my frunk at all times so, but simply going...
No - I don't. I know where they are and avoid them if I'm in the Rivian. I'm sure I'd be fine, but figuring my R1S is around 7,500 lbs when I'm driving it around puts me around 25% above the weight limit for the bridges. I don't know what the tolerance is (it's probably much higher), but I'll...
My first two tailgates I just used the kickstand that came with the Starlink (I have a standard). I bought the official Starlink Roof Rack Mount and it worked well with our Rivian crossbars, but I pulled it off for this year. I just don't need it to be mounted like that and sometimes it wasn't...
Ummm...It's definitely over 7,000 lbs. Here in Lancaster PA we've got a bunch of historic covered bridges and I think the weight limit is 3 tons for all of them so I'm very aware of the weight limit. It would be nice if the Rivian nav system recognized bridges that we can't cross.
The Pacifica is to be used as a loaner (says the guy who dropped his R1S off at the SC on Tuesday and has a black Pacifica for the next couple weeks while they wait for the backordered dampers and half-shafts). I call every day to see if someone has returned a R1S loaner.
Interesting question...I'll be paying the upcharge for 20" wheels and the ocean cloud interior, but I don't know if I'd pay $800 for a frunk that has a power-close option. What scares me is that I have the ability to open it with my phone from anywhere but can't say "oops" and close it again...
We park so that there's about 2" between the back of our R1S and the garage door - leaving room in front of the vehicle to walk in from the house and get to the driver's side. Our parking aid is a laser parking guide - It's motion-activated and projects a dot on the dash as we move into...
I'm a pretty heavy frunk user - I can't open my R1S tailgate with the garage door closed so the frunk is the first place I put stuff (unless it's a long trip and then I have to think about temps in the frunk). For groceries and the like? They go in the frunk. I'll miss the powered close, but...
Oy - that sucks. Do you get to the US often? I wonder if you walked into a service center and explained your situation if they might be able to give you some guidance.
Since your worst case scenario would be to have to bring the vehicle back to a US service center, you might be better off...
Living in farm country we have the opposite problem - when they're spraying pig or chicken manure on nearby fields we have to turn on the "skunker" (recirculate) in our cars so that we're NOT pulling in the outside air. We had friends coming to visit once and they noticed a nasty smell in their...
They're great and provide a nice level surface. I just put some velcro strips on the bottom of mine to keep them in place when I lift the subtrunk cover. The corner pieces didn't shift a lot, but I was getting tired of the center piece dropping into the subtrunk every time I removed the cover.
Thanks for the reply - Because EVPlay is a hardware solution (basically using the infotainment screen as a monitor/input device for two computers) I think it's really unlikely that Rivian could detect it or do anything about it, but I know it's a possibility. If Rivian gets to the point where...
I may regret this, but...Why aren't you taking advantage of the opportunities to add Carplay to your Rivian? I was more tolerant of this attitude in 2023 when there weren't any options, but I now own two different CP solutions for my Rivian:
EVSportline Smart Dash Screen - This solution comes...
