15k miles, just charged to 90% and calculate full battery health on large battery. Put over 102kw in going from 15%->90%. Range still estimating like new.
I mostly fast charge from 20% to 70%. Occasionally at home. Only a handful of times to 95%+
Just adding my data to the mix. 15k miles, just charged to 90% and calculate full battery health on large battery. Put over 102kw in going from 15%->90%. Range still estimating like new.

Meh. Driver plus needs a lot of work. Text messaging and side cameras needed to compete.
But also know we just got a few months of bigger updates so not surprised this is pretty minor.
No need to keep going back and forth - we’re all here because we own or are considering a rivian. I like my R1S a lot and WILL be road tripping again to Denver from Sac next month. Hopeful for the best and I’m certainly optimistic for the future of EV road trips after 1Q24.
All the best.
It’s hit or miss as an experience but some areas may be better, less travelled and so chargers don’t break down as much. Going from Sacramento to LA several times and usually have had to stop twice to charge and now that’s at least 3-4 times to make sure I don’t have an issue. Most of the time...
I disagree. It’s an extra hour every 200 miles. And roadtripping in a non Tesla has gone from ok to bad in the last 18 months.
And an EV isn’t for 90% of America TODAY by your rubric. it has to get better and it will. Tesla has figured it out.
it’s one thing to love an EV - which I do...
There is an exception to everything. The day that charging is consistently more reliable than pumping gas is 10-20 years away IMHO. Until then - enjoy the exceptions but don’t make extrapolations off of them.
My point is about blindly accepting only the good and not having any sense of the challenges involved.
It definitely COULD be fine. But if you have any need for confidence on a timeline - it’s stressful. If you assume you will need an extra hour for every 2 hours driving and enjoy charging...
Camp speaker has something going on - it will randomly connect to my phones when car is off and in garage. I’ll turn off camp speaker for sure and again - it connects. So I do wonder if this thing stays on all the time or wakes up and is regularly draining. I think the phantom drain is all of...
Great advice here. I would add, don’t overly stress about going below 20 or above 70 - fast charging or slow charging, etc.
Doing these “less optimal” things even several times a month will have an almost imperceptible effect. Exclusively fast charging may degrade by up to .5% faster...
So it sounds like ~2kwh reserve - at 20MPH on flat surface, conserve you may get around 5 miles max. Probably was more like 4kwh reserve prior to update.
It’s so - so. I had ID.4 and ionic and the touch lock and unlock didn’t work great. As far as locking goes the biggest issue for me is lack of child safety lock toggle. That’s annoying big time.
The proximity unlock works great for me
