Well here in the Bay Area, I'd say it was about 6 months ago that I noticed a HUGE increase in the # of Rivians on the road, and that's when the waving seemed to stop.
'Cause all of the Californians who can afford it are dumping their Teslas and jumping off the Elon bandwagon and upgrading to...
Seriously? I admitted I screwed up, and I'm just trying to prevent other people from buying this and having the same issue. Happy to change the title to something less triggering for you...
No no, not it didn't happen again.
As I mentioned in the original thread, the technician pointed out that this was an additional mistake I made in addition to leaving it at 10/20 miles of range overnight. And as I mentioned in that thread, I thought it would make sense to highlight this one...
Final update:
Seems like nobody else has had issues with this adapter. So it was probably just an excuse the service center gave me so that they wouldn’t have to take responsibility…

Original comment:
I installed the adapter and left my car unplugged overnight with only 10 or 20...
Alrighty all, here's the final update on my R1S. It took a few weeks before I'm getting it back tomorrow because of some other issues that were being looked at.
Thankfully, all that my stupidity destroyed was the 12v battery (about $500ish to replace). The high voltage batteries are fine...
Look y'all, let me address some of the comments that have been coming in. I did indeed RTFM, and yes, I should have recalled reading to always leave the car plugged in when parked. My simpler experience with my Bolt made it easier to forget that the Rivian is a much more complex beast.

yep, I know that now! I assumed this would be more like my bolt, which could go for weeks without being plugged in. Unfortunately, when I park at the marina, there is no place to charge. I do have a charger at my home though…

all right friends. allow me to share my electric car nightmare (still in progress, unfortunately). don’t get me wrong. I’ve been an EV driver for four years but I’ve never had anything like this happen to me before.
so, with my old electric car, a nice simple...
Wow I've been going since 2002 (including to the mudpocalypse) and I would NEVER take my fancy-ass R1S to the playa. ?. If you have really bad windstorms, you will never get that dust out of hidden places in your vehicle. That's why I've got my old 2005 beater 4wd tacoma.
Plus, I pull a 25'...
