  1. Weathertech tonneau covers - 2 flavors

Anyone tried Weathertech roll up tonneau cover? Tri-fold doesn't work in my scenario (mountain biking, Rivian tailgate pad), and I don't want to take off Rivian manual tonneau cover every time I need to use the whole bed. Issue with roll up covers is that they wobble on highway speeds, but in...
  2. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Any improvements with proximity lock and unlock? That was the main selling point of this update ?
  3. 4500 mile towing journey - Portland to Tucson and back; with side trips.

Great trip report, thanks for sharing. P.S. "I drove into the OCEAN" part genuinely made me laugh ;)
  4. Software Update 2023.42.0 is out (⚠️ UPDATE: OTA fix rolling out today 11/15/23)

Reading this thread and can't figure out... Was anyone able to update successfully, or car bricks for everyone who installs this update?
  5. New Rivian tonneau cover delivery packaging has been upgraded (photo)

Agree. Comparing to $200 for a tri-fold vinyl tonneau cover on all my trucks (which comes is very good packaging) - that price is crazy high. Yes, it is a way better option that a basic $200 tonneau cover, but I just need to cover my stuff in the bed from rain. Waiting for a powered retrofit...
  6. Cybertruck full official specs just leaked (dimensions, weight, tow rating, bed size, etc.)

Shifting this topic from FSD to a technology you definitely can relate. When you activate assisted cruise control on a highway, does it mean that you don't pay attention to the road anymore? Does it mean that you can play with your phone instead of watching your speed?
  7. Cybertruck full official specs just leaked (dimensions, weight, tow rating, bed size, etc.)

Where I was saying "paying less attention to driving"? Please, don't try to use my own words against me to prove your point.
  8. Cybertruck full official specs just leaked (dimensions, weight, tow rating, bed size, etc.)

Thank you for sharing this fresh news. It took NHTSA months of work and millions of taxpayers dollars to figure out an obvious fact that FSD in the case of emergency asks you to take control immediately and disables the next second. And it actually does it very loud and clear, and any FSD user...
  9. Cybertruck full official specs just leaked (dimensions, weight, tow rating, bed size, etc.)

In other works - FSD is not perfect but it works anywhere, even on gravel roads and roads without any markings. I agree that phantom braking is annoying - that is my biggest complain for the current version, but luckily it happens in the same places every time and I'm prepared. And Rivian won't...
  10. Cybertruck full official specs just leaked (dimensions, weight, tow rating, bed size, etc.)

Don't agree. I use FSD every day and it is a game changer. Being able to just press the stalk twice and relax in the seat while my Tesla drives me back after an exhausting MTB ride is an awesome feature. I don't use it on busy city streets though - it is not ready for that yet. Don't make your...
  11. A less painful DIY wheel swap / tire rotate

I do swaps from 32" highway tires (60lb per wheel) to 35" off-road tires (100lb per wheel) several times a year. I would say that using 3ton jack to lift the Rivian can be too much for that poor thing. And yes, your back and (sore) arms will remind you about this exercise the next day.
  12. Real world dual-motor and max-pack reviews missing?

Thanks, that is good info. How realistic is to drive 400+ miles on one charge with Max Pac from your perspective?
  13. Real world dual-motor and max-pack reviews missing?

I'm also waiting for any real world reviews for DM Max Pack. My R1T Performance Max Pack is supposed to be delivered within next 3 weeks, and I'm on the edge right now. Max Pack is definitely disappointing - I don't believe I will be able to tow my travel trailer with it for at least 200 miles.
  14. Interesting towing results with OTA Update 2023.38 -- R1T on Ike Gauntlet (by TFL)

I was wondering why they were not using weight distribution hitch (WDH) in that video. And actually, in any other revent video with Ike Gauntlet towing. R1T needs WDH per manual when towing such load, and even TFL on their page recommend WDH: The TFLtruck Guide to Finding the Right Hitch For...
  15. WDH for towing travel trailer

And to leave if is here for future reference: this is exact quote from the October 2023 version of R1T Owner's Guide:
  16. WDH for towing travel trailer

Thanks, everyone. That is great info and confirms my belief that WDH is a must have thing if you tow anything meaningful.
  17. WDH for towing travel trailer

Hi everyone, I've searched the whole forum and couldn't find a solution. Most R1Ts that I see on the road with small travel trailers use basic hitches. I understand that leveling is not an issue with R1T since truck will do it for you. But what about sway control and putting more weight on the...
  18. My initial results with new Tow Mode

Thanks for sharing. I'm still trying wrap my head around what will be the usable range for towing my 6600lb trailer with Max Pack R1T. I hope I can get at least 150 miles on full charge.
  19. Offroad Comparison - Rivian R1T (Halloween update) vs Chevy Colorado Trail Boss!

Thanks for confirming my theories on Enduro vs QM for off-roading in PNW. I'm waiting for my Performance Enduro to test it out and compare with real locking diffs in my off-road prepared RAM. From my experience real locking diff is WAY better that all these "lockable" diffs that GM uses and diff...
