Mr. Cash Manager has entered the picture. Glad we have the resident bean counter in this board. Too bad your bank account and liquid cash will not include restricted cash or “cash” that is covered by certain debt covenants. You know that little pesky asterisk that is next to their disclosure...
Yes, a lot of people were watching this train wreck, but many Rivian owners can’t see beyond their front dashboard .
Silly rookie move. Big difference between cash and cash equivalents and restricted cash. Only liquid cash will pay the bills. Not restricted or marketable securities. Good try.
Perspective: Without precision execution this year, cost efficiencies and better demand generation, RIVN will be out of cash next year. They will most certainly need a significant capital raise to deliver on R2 production, continued RAN development and the management of services for existing owners
Brilliant prediction. “They will either survive or they will not”. Must have taken you a long time to write that response. Good luck to you and your stock. Vehicle is great, stock isn’t and neither is management’s ability to execute.
Feel free to circle back to this post after the launch of R2 and their Q2 earnings call (July) and we can rejoice at the single digit stock price. For now, continue doing your research. I am sure you will see price cuts coming real soon for R1T’s.
Pure facts. Reality. Sorry it doesn’t fit with the rose colored glasses you are wearing. Doesn’t mean I don’t like the vehicle, just providing perspective to ALL Rivian owners, shareholders and potential investors.
That’s funny. Use the only cash they have to buy the stock and take the company private, while not being able to manufacture vehicles because you spent it on your stock. Not sure their lenders would agree to that as the notes would convert instantly and they would need more cash to buy up those...
Hold onto to your Rivian gear guard as this is going to be a very choppy ride, with more air pockets. The open interest and volume on long dated PUT options out to Dec 2025 and January 2026 are massive bets that this stock will be in the low single digits before it goes back to a solid double...
Why would it be short sale restricted? There are buyers and sellers of stocks, unfortunately, for RIVN, there are 2x more sellers than buyers, hence a significant price drop. A big lesson for RJ and his CFO to learn as they now have to face buyside analysts to prop the stock up, but when you...
100% correct. Too many people are justifying RJ’s weak response as a legitimate excuse and pause. He is the CEO and should be well versed on what the financial picture will look like in the next quarter, year and beyond. His none answer and deflection might have worked back in the dot-com...
Unfortunately, Rivian stock will be single digits soon. Most analysts have lost confidence in their ability to execute current plan (see the four downgrades issued today). I hate to say it, but the shutdown in Q2 is more than just retooling, it is based more on slowing demand for EV-SUV's at the...
Valid point. The production for 2024 doesn't instill confidence (same as 2023 and 20% lower than expectations) that they will see enough demand to grow faster than the market they serve.
Aston Martin is in a league of its own. Rivian/EV's are fairly mainstream and even with government support, still cannot drive demand. The EV market is crowded. They need scale to drive prices down which will drive demand. Shutting down a factory for weeks will not help drive costs down...
Good points. As a multi-TEsla owner as well, I would say that I really like my R1S (and to some extent, better than Tesla). It would be interesting to see if TSLA were to buy RIVN. I am sure we will see some consolidation int eh EV space as Lucid and Fisker will not make it.
Rivian announced the issuance of convertible debt last year (Oct 5, 2023) when the stock was double where it is today ($23 vs. $11.50). The stock tanked and since then, they have burned through almost all of what they issued. You cannot keep issuing debt and halving your stock price AND continue...
