Just to note for people who aren't familiar with truck terminology, they said 1,000 lb payload, and payload includes passengers, so you could easily hit that payload with 5 (large) adults in the cab and nothing in the truck.
Real world numbers will likely be above what they're currently...
I ended up saying "That's more of a statement than a question, but sure, sounds good" and have not heard anything since.
I'm in Austin, so you'd think the dealers here would be hip with electric vehicles. There are a few ford dealers here, maybe I need to talk to the other ones here.
^^ And...
We've got a million pictures of Rivian out in the wild. There's a whole 100 page thread about it. I saw those F-150 pics and they're pretty similar to the Rivian pictures we have.
I got emailed and texted the following:
"Hi Rob, my name is _____ _____ and I'm the internet manager at _____ Ford.
I recently received your online reservation for the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning.
We will contact you later this year and early next spring to get your order placed?"
I'm not...
I'll be honest, I'm tempted. I love Rivian, but there's certainly some features on this I wish the Rivian had, like flat loading frunk, (at least) one physical control for infotainment, and Android Auto.
Rivian was always a stretch for me financially. Maybe I'll get this now and get a Rivian later.
Although, I'd be weary of that waterproof rating. My watch was supposed to be more waterproof than that (IP68), and I took it river tubing. It got water damage. As it turns out, IP testing is done with static pressure, and dynamic pressure (such as any real world use) can be greater than the...
What if the car's 12 volt dies?
After some brief googling, Teslas are not able to be opened if the 12v dies. You need to somehow access the 12 volt and charge it or replace it, which is in the frunk, which won't open without power.
Hi, financial planner (in training) here, that's not how that works.
Think of withholding as pre-payments. It doesn't affect how much you actually owe in taxes.
I think they showed the box, but not the plugs. Again, I'd have to watch the series again to make sure. I've got no idea which episode they developed it, and they only talk about it briefly.
Better source, but only in video form:
"We developed, along with Rivian and Harley Davidson, we...
Not solid evidence, but it seems to support what I was thinking. The fact that they couldn't initially charge, and that it was a game changer.

I think otherwise...
I don't think so, I seem to remember them talking about how amazing it was because they had level 1 charging everywhere else, but the people at Rivian were able to make it so they could DC charge directly from the Rivian.
I can't find any sources now, so maybe I'm just making shit up lol
Hey I spent a decade as an EMT and you not wearing a seatbelt isn't just your business.
1) You become a meat missle and can hit/injure others in your own car or even in the other car or pedestrians
2) You become a meat pancake requiring underpaid EMTs and firefighters having to scrape you off...
