  1. 2024.11.2 Software Update Released! => Release Notes: Send Navigation, Mapping, Charging Feedback/Scores + Rear Display Improvements + More

Last couple of releases I've been doing a PDF compare of the new R1T owner's manual compared to the one before the release. Usually I learn something new about the vehicle, and I've been sharing my notes in the forum. Below are notes from the (not comprehensive) comparison I did after the...
  2. Eclipse + Superchargers + Rivian = Chaos

Ouch. Boston is not great for EA charging either. Sorry your trip was so harrowing. Traveling with a small child is hard no matter what. We have two middle school aged kids so was a bit easier. I've tried to get as many "cards" as possible for charging networks, especially chargepoint, evgo...
  3. Eclipse + Superchargers + Rivian = Chaos

We experienced an even more extreme situation returning from the eclipse. We were driving back from northern Vermont to MA, and the Rivian nav told us to stop at the EA in Lebanon. Since that was the only 3 "lightning bolt" charger on the route home, I suspected everybody's nav would be...
  4. R2 / R3 has heat pump (confirmed by RJ)

I have to admit I like how quickly the non-heat-pump heater starts working. It's quite luxurious coming from an ICE where it would take minutes before anything was warmer than the air already in the car.
  5. Now Available: 2024.07.02 Software Update: Tesla Supercharger Access Coming Soon, Navigation Improvements, Room Entry And Exit Enhancements & More

For the last few months I've been doing a PDF comparison of the new owner's guide that comes out with each software release vs. the one that came out with the previous release. I figured I would include the details of the differences I noticed in this forum, in case others are interested as...
  6. RealWheels EV Horn Upgrade Kit - Review & Sound Clips Videos

Is there a thread that provides instructions on where to obtain the parts and how to best install them (500hz horn and splitter)?
  7. Finally charged at a Tesla Magic Dock Supercharger

I found it is not enough to add your credit card to Accountā€”>Wallet, in the Tesla App (at least in the iOS app). Once you add your card there, then you also have to go to Accountā€”>Chargingā€”>Manage Payment, and then select the card you added to the wallet. Notice ApplePay isnā€™t an option you...
  8. SOC Creep Above Limit

Every time Iā€™ve gone on a trip for more than 3-4 daysā€”I usually leave my truck plugged inā€”at some point thereā€™s a charging error. When I get back, the LEDs around the charging port are red. Note: I have a Rivian wall charger.
  9. Step-by-step guide for DIY changing wheels & tires on your Rivian R1T / R1S

Is it just me, or does it seem like the width of one of the wheels is not enough to catch the truck if the jack fails, i.e., the bare disc in the wheel well will hit the ground before the frame of the car hits the tire. And can the tire/wheel really take the force of 3000lbs crashing down on it...
  10. Our MAX PACK R1T's decent first winter trip across WI

I carefully read this thread and the ones linked by @SlaterGS, before going on a couple of winter road trips in New England. Was ready to switch to 71F or 72F degrees, but we ended up leaving the cabin temp set to fully Auto and 69F degrees the whole time. It was < 20F much of the time. The HVAC...
  11. Ford CEO announces “magic dock” adapter around the corner!

I don't. Just wanted to point out it is "international", but that doesn't necessarily cover every country you're right.
  12. Standard drive mode settings

I use high regen because I like sticking with one-pedal driving as much as possible, and find the default regen setting is not aggressive enough for traffic in town, it's fine on the highway and less busy rural roads. I keep auto ride height because the lower height is better for efficiency on...
  13. Compressor cover doesn't latch?

That is really nice of you to do this for the community. Wish I had waited a day before placing an order ;-).
  14. Compressor cover doesn't latch?

I uploaded the file and ordered a 3D Print from Treatstock (I chose Bellair3D to fulfill the order since they are local-ish). Bellair3D printed it out that same evening and it was in the mail the next day. Took me about 2 minutes. You can do it all using a guest account, it is a snap.
  15. Ultimate RAN Stations Thread List (Wiki) -- locations, reviews, quirks, tips, etc.

The White Mountains is a charging desert... That would be an ideal place for a RAN IMO, given all the amazing activities you can do in that region.
  16. Automatic Retracting Running Boards from Hansshow and EVBase

I agree, the delay makes kneel impractical, my kids are usually trying to open their doors even before the truck is fully stopped in the garage. When we get back from sports stuff and they're hungry for dinner, the extra 5-10 seconds for kneel mode is definitely a stretch. Also, when I'm driving...
  17. Absolute Basics of Charging Stations and On the Road Charging

Out of curiosity, why did you buy the 80A adapter instead of the 60A adapter, since Rivians' can only charge at 48A (80% of 60A charger). Is that because the 60A adapter is not compatible with 80A chargers, so the 80A adapter has more compatibility? Has anyone tried the 60A adapter with 80A...
