My understanding was the kWh used in the trip recorder includes all kWh used including for the HVAC system. I see this often when recording shorter trips where the kWh used always comes out slightly higher than the mi/kWh calculation shows.
Although I have never seen such a large discrepancy...
If you search online there's are a couple magsafe charging pads that you can "retrofit" yourself. It involves removing the current charging assembly and unplugging the cable that goes into the center armrest console. Didn't look too difficult and many had YouTube video instructions.
Man this thread is making me want to bring my R1S in to get checked. One of the first things I noticed was wind noise close to the top of the windshield where it meets the roof around highway speeds. Passengers have noticed this too but SC says it's normal due to the boxy design of the vehicle...
I have the same experience as OP. Coming from a Tesla I can feel the same awkward "dead zone" on the R1S. I'm not able to finely maneuver between 0 and 1 mph. There is a travel distance where nothing happens as I slowly put pressure on the accelerator pedal, before it suddenly jerks forward...
Seems like an easy fix. One way of my drive is mostly down hill so I'd be interested in this changing too but I understand in most situations I'll never pass 4 kWh/mi. However, I agree that more transparent data is better than generic limiting data.
My motors were also restricted on the 2nd day of ownership, under 50 miles. Front motor drive failed. They got me a flatbed and a loaner. 2nd week of the loaner and I have more miles on it than my new car. The part is being replaced but who's to say it won't happen again if their parts are...
Did you ever get it fixed? How long did it end up taking and how has it been since?
I literally got motor fault and system fault 12 hours after picking the car up. Under 50 miles.
I have a feeling it is suspension related because it first triggered when going over a speed bump, and then it's...
I'm hopeful Rivian will survive in the long run as it's built some great products and created this wholesome image of their brand. But imo short to medium term they're in a tough spot and their stock price is going to be suppressed as other companies are seriously outperforming market...
Based on my experience, there's no way a new build is ready in 1-6 weeks unless a matching config was cancelled or it is already in the shop or soon to be in the shop. Which means you might get lucky, but there's 5000 diff configuration combinations available so it's a low chancw. More likely...
So I haven't heard anything from my guide or Rivian. I decide to jump on their online chat and their service reps told me they see my VIN was assigned already (HURRAY). No e-mails or invitation to purchase yet though. For those still in the dark with status changed to processing estimate and...
From what I've read from user reports, you cannot lease if you have a pre-price hike order, because that was an agreement to purchase at the lower price. A lease would be a different agreement at the new pricing only. That's the best I know so far. I'm also confused with what the guides are saying.
Ok.. the guide told me their previous reply was a mistake and "R1S leasing is only available for vehicles that are selected from the R1 Shop".
So as someone with a reservation and locked config, I wouldn't be able to opt for leasing? Hmm...
